The Coach House is a very budget friendly Pack Holidays option. So if you don’t want lots of little luxuries and you would like a more basic option this is a perfect choice.

The Coach House is situated in a very quiet location, just 10 minutes walk from the centre of the bustling market town of North Walsham where many dog friendly cafe and pubs can be found. There is a lovely countryside dog walk accessed from right outside the door. Witton Woods is accessible from the Coach House on foot and our wonderful beaches are just a 10 minute drive. The quieter beaches are very dog friendly. The Norfolk Broads are a short 10 minute drive away and there are a number of boat hire companies who welcome dogs on boats.

  1. Love the Lewis Family

We loved this place. Perfect location for a walk into town, short drive to lots of amazing dog friendly beaches.
Our reactive rescue dogs relaxed very easily into The Coach House and they dont relax easily!
The kitchen has everything we needed, perfect!
North Walsham chippy has amazing fish and the best curry sauce (home made)
Bacton beach was our favourite beach and Bacton Woods our favourite woods even with deer stalking up on us
I am a dog trainer and would highly recommend Pack Holidays to all doggie families!!!

  2. Chris Anderson

We had a perfect stay in this comfortable, spotless cottage in September 2022. We were spoiled for choice with so many things to do in the area. We visited the seals, took walks in Sheringham Woods which our two Goldies loved exploring and visited Cromer and Sandringham to see the flowers in memory of our late Queen Elizabeth 11.

Felicity, her Mother and Simon were so nice to us and we appreciated the lovely homemade hooman biscuits whilst our dogs adored the doggie versions!

Everyone we met in the town was friendly and we enjoyed buying bread and pies from the local shops finishing with a final meal at the dog-friendly Kings Arms.

Gail’s organisation was as brilliant as ever and it is lovely to engage with a person who truly loves dogs and puts people first by offering fair terms and conditions- thank you to all who helped organise our week!

  3. D Clarkson

We have just returned from a peaceful week at the Coach House, Marshgate in North Walsham. We loved our stay – 2 adults and our 4 dogs (yes 4 – we were delighted to find a property willing to take this number of dogs). The cottage was a really lovely tasteful conversion, clean and had everything we needed. The dogs loved both the homemade dog biscuits they received on arrival and having their own secure garden.
Simon the owner was friendly and very helpful but did not pester us at all.
Sheringham Woods and Blicking Hall both excellent for dog walking with a buggy (one of our pack has bad legs so travels in style with his own ‘wheels’).
Thank you Gail, Pack Holidays and Simon, highly recommended.

  4. Claire, Stuart and Sidney

What a lovely accommodation, we all had a wonderful time. The beaches are so accessible from this cottage and they’re stunning at this time of year! Even though the weather wasn’t amazing we still had a wonderful time and will definitely be booking for next year!!

  5. Mandy, Rachael, Sam, Summer and Ellie

WE LOVE IT HERE! We have had another lovely time here at The Coach House. The weather has been very kind (mostly)! We have spent our mornings roaming around Bacton Woods with the pooches seeing deer every time we went. In the afternoons we have spent our time walking on the beach, well on the flood defences as palm oil has been washed up on the shores. We stayed safe up there and still had a really fab time but it wasn’t an issue as Ellie loves the woods but isn’t keen on the sea so we didn’t mind not getting too close! As always our week was gone far too quickly and we are already planning on our next visit. We will work on keeping the dogs quieter time, thank you once again!

  6. Jordan

What an absolutely fabulous place to stay, the cottage has everything you need to have a lovely time away and is superb both inside and out! Really loved the layout of the staircase and the double room, the beds were super comfy and made mornings lots harder but suppose that doesn’t matter when you are here to chill, the sofa and chairs also got a 10/10 from Ozzy as he spent most of his time on them snoozing after a long day! This is now the second time I have been on holiday to Norfolk, both of which have been thanks to Gail and Pack Holidays, and it definitely wont be the last time either! The area is so peaceful and really is a lovely place to be. We recommend the village Chinese and Indian takeaway, food there is 10/10 (menus are on the noticeboard just outside the kitchen!). During our short stay we paid a visit to Cromer, Sheringham, Overtstrand and my favourite beach, Mundesley. It was lovely if the weather was bitterly cold. Thank you for the lovely treats which were left on the table ready for our arrival, especially the prosecco which went down a treat (but didn’t last very long!). Once again the handmade dog treats when given to the pooch were gone in seconds but I had to save some for the dogs at home! If we plan on coming to Norfolk again for the weekend then we would definitely consider booking the Coach House! Thank you to Simon and Felicity for allowing us to stay in this truly superb place and thank you again to Gail for the 5* service that you always provide! Gutted to be going home but we cannot wait to come back!

  7. Mary and Mat + dogs

Loved this break away for the family. We only stayed for 3 nights but packed in a lot. First went to Happisburgh beach. Dogs loved it and had a good stretch of their legs, we tried to go to the Star inn (recommended in guest information) but it was closed (Monday). Next day we went to Bacton woods which was amazing and then a trip to Bewilderwood which was also good fun. We tried again at the Star and was a very very enjoyable meal. Last day saw us going to Cromer and then relaxing in the cottage and pizza for tea. A very nice place and I personally loved the fig tree in the courtyard even if we were a few weeks early.

  8. Pui, Rebecca + Dogs

Fantastic time in this lovely cottage + the surrounding areas. Cottage is well equipped for a very comfortable weeks stay.

-Bacton woods was perfect to take the dogs for a long walk whilst avoiding the bearing sun, Happisburgh was a lovely beach/cliff walk where they could also play in the sea to their hearts content. Cromer, for us, was too buys + hectic to enjoy. Hiring a boat at Wroxham for a few hours and sailing to Horning was great fun and nice stop for lunch. (Richardson boat hire was very reasonably priced and dog friendly).

Eat + Drink: Banningham Crown – Lovely food – very dog friendly, Oasis 2 – good indian restaurant – not too far to drive, Jade Garden – nice Chinese takeaway – very convenient, Bluebell pub – just down the road – dogs allowed in garden, food expensive vs quality, White Swan pub – very, very dog friendly but very much a “local” pub. We watched 2 England matches there and was probably never more than 15 people in, which was ideal with two dogs in tow!

  9. Jen, Richard and Milly the dog

We have very much enjoyed our stay in the very well equipped Coach House and have felt completely at home here.
Our favourite day out was seeing the seals at Horsey beach/Gap. An amazing sight. Watching the variety of boats on the Broads and a lovely walk on Happisburgh beach. Thank you Gail at Pack Holidays for all your help and to Simon for the warm welcome. I am sure we will return!

  10. Anne, Sandra, Harry, Thomas & Skipper 🐾

Had a fabulous week stay here in North Walsham. The Coach House was a great base for exploring the coast and local areas. The seals at Horsey were SPECTACULAR and the Dunes cafe nearby a treat. The Recruiting Seargeant in Coltishall was great food. We could not have asked for more of our accomodation – sad to leave.

  11. Jane, Michael, Harry and Buzzz, Mabel and Winnie xx

We’ve had a great 4 nights in The Coach Hoouse. What a find. So pleased to find somewhere that is truly dog friendly and dog secure as well as being VERY nice!
Such a good base to explore – Mundesley, Horsey, Cart Gap, Happisburgh, Cromer, Blicking and a good walk along Weavers Way in North Walsham.
The seals at Horsey are quite a sight to see
Hope to be back again soon
    Thank you

  12. Debs, Paul, Lucie, Tillie and Betsie

Short rearranged getaway (thanks to Covid!) but worked really well.
Our third time at Marshgate and we have tried all three cottages. The cottage itself is perfect but the back garden is not ideal as our three like to mooch about too much!
Loved the welcome package – the cookies were amazing and we bought more at the butchers! The dogs loved the biccys. We walked at Bacton beach, Bacton woods and all around North Walsham, Lucky with the weather – just a shame it wasn’t warm enough to sit in the garden. A visit to Norfolk Alpacas is a must for adults and children! Just around the corner and a good couple of hours fun. See you again in October.

  13. Nikki, Jasmine and Pippa, from Tunbridge Wells

We have really enjoyed our stay here at The Coach House. We have had everything we needed and the accommodation is incredibly comfortable, clean and modern. The Welcome Pack for humans and dogs was a lovely touch. This has been a fabulous holiday and we will definitely be back to the area to do some more. Unfortunately, Pippa our dog, isn’t fully fit after a recent leg operation. so we’ve not been able to walk / explore as much as we would have liked, but we have had a brilliant time, nonetheless. The ‘village’ of North Walsham is a 10 mion walk and a lovely way to spend a few hours ‘mooching’. We’ve really enjoyed the beaches but especially the one at Walcott, empty of people and free parking if you time it right, adjoining the beach. We saw the seals, for free at Horsey beach and then went on an organised trip with Temple Seal Trips from Morston Quay – such a treat!
Thank you Pack Holidays – Gail – brilliant having a human dealing with our booking!
We’ve had a great time, in a superb area, in superb accommodation at a superb price.
    * Mundesley beach is stunning but we didn’t visit due to Pippa’s leg. However, we did look at it from ‘The Ships’ beer garden! The food at The Ship was superb – would highly recommend it, but make sure you take cash, just in case their internet isnt working for card payments.

  14. Kate, John, and doggies (Arnold, Hugo and Bonnie)

Had a wonderful week here. Weather wasn’t great but enjoyed the beach walks – Favourites were Winterton on Sea, Trimingham beach and Wells Next The Sea. Loved Cromer – the Wellington pub was great for food and drinks. The best meals we had was at the Recruiting Sergeant. Dog friendly and amazing food. And the Globe in Wells. Found The Coach House very cosy and quiet and ideal location for touring around.

  15. Janet, Jeff & Dillon

We have had a lovely relaxing week here, can how say we have stayed at all the Marshgate properties and they are all lovely in different ways.
Weather has been very warm and we couldn’t do as much as we would have liked as it was too hot for Fillon. We did visit Bacton and Pigney woods, Bacton beach and Cart Gap. Went to Winterton but couldn’t even get parked.
Had Great Fish & Chips from Three Cottages Chippy next to Sainsburys, Bluebell serves lovely food, it was nice to sit outside. Also White Swan in town very dog friendly. Recommend Sugar and Spice Cafe in Bacton.
Thanks Gail and Felicity for their help in sorting the bed confusion.

  16. The Hodkiss Family

We have really enjoyed our stay in North Walsham and the Coach House was not only comfortable but in a good spot to visit other area’s along this beautiful coast.

We have been blessed with perfect weather all week so have spent a few hours on the beaches and in beer gardens!!

We loved The Ship Inn, Mundesley, and The Recruiting Sergeant, Horstead. The food at both places also very very nice.

Beaches – Sea Palling / Horsey (for seals) / Mundesley / Cromer (although a lot busier!!)

  17. Beth, Patrick, Megan, Macken, Bridie , Magpie, Bella and Jude

Horsey beach was just fantastic, very unspoilt, lots of seals who seemed very curious to see our dogs.
Marshgate road, handy field nearby for morning dog walks. Three Cottages Chip Shop excellent quality, can’t recommend it highly enough, five stars!
Dunes Cafe between Horsey and Sea Palling is a very nice loads off, huge cakes at reasonable price and friendly staff, decent cuppa.
Pigney Woods is a lovely dog walk, woods and meadows, bench seating for a rest
Norfolk Motorcycle Museum is a must if you are at all interested in motorcycles like us. More of a living workshop than a museum, brilliant!
Trip to Cromer in the rain, seems quite a nice bustling little town with attractive buildings and shops, but weather drove us back early.
The beach at Sea Palling isnt the prettiest but huge and we had a bracing walk with a useful cluster of shops and cafes at the entrance to the beach.
    Great week in Norfolk

  18. Sue, Julie & the 4 labradors

The Coach House didn’t disappoint and provided everything we needed for a short stay here. A very well thought out accomodation.

And as for our dogs…..! Well, they had everything they needed! Thank you so much for all the doggie treats, extra towels, throws – there was everything they needed.

A lovely break – will definitely come back!!

  19. Karen, Paul & Gang: Izzy x 🐾, Ralphy x 🐾, Archie x🐾

As always a fantastic stay. We can always rely on having no worries coming to any of the Pack Holidays cottages. Reliable, comfortable, clean. Lovely treats for humans and dogs. Good communication with Gail.

Because of covid we couldn’t come last year but are already looking forward to returning next year, and coming for our main holidays later this year.

All your needs and comforts are here
    Best wishes

  20. Suz, Aubrey, Charlie, Ellie and pooches Bea, Doris, Nell and Mabel

We have enjoyed our stay here. Comfy beds, nice and clean. The courtyard has been a beautiful place to sit and have a cuppa. Despite spending 48 years in Norfolk, I had never been to Bacton Woods. We’ve had some beautiful walks with the pooches and revisited Bacton, Walcott and Happisburgh beaches. We had a lovely meal at The Recruiting Sergeant for my dad’s 80th birthday and a great scampi and chips at the Kingfisher Cafe in Walcott.

  21. Regina

A great place! Very comfortable bed, nice to stay in a coach house! I love the old doors at the front and the peaceful garden.

Visits to see the seals at Horsey and exploring Bacton beach made our visit memorable.

    Thanks very much!

  22. Samantha, Paul, Max + Maddie

We booked The Coach House for our honeymoon and wanted a romantic hide-away, peace and quiet. This has been perfect. The bedroom at the top is beautiful, so quiet you wouldn’t even believe how close the town is.

Bacton Woods for lovely walks with lots of nature to watch – we spotted Jays (and lots of other birds) , squirrels, rabbits + roe dear.

Simon is very welcoming + lovely and we were lucky to be here at the right time to see the fabulous Iris garden in full bloom. We like to see new places, so rarely return-however we enjoyed it here so much. I can imagine we may come back here!

Perfect, DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE!
