Address: Stable Cottage, Marshgate House, Marshgate Lane, North Walsham, Norfolk, NR28 9EF
From the A1151 from Norwich, turn left onto the A149 signposted to Cromer and North Walsham. Follow this road for 5 miles until you arrive at North Walsham. At the first set of traffic lights, turn right to go into North Walsham town. At the roundabout, take the second exit, (with Paston College on your left). At the next roundabout take the first exit (Roys on your left and Lidls on your right). Follow the road past the Post Office and Library (New Road) and at the next bend in the road, take the left turn into Pound Road. Follow this road going straight on at the crossroads (Manor Road school on your right hand side). After the crossroads, the road turns into Marshgate. Go over several speed bumps and after the road bends to the right, there is a right hand turn with a white cottage at teh corner. Take this right hand turn (which is still Marshgate). Stable Cottage is accessed through the very large black gates on the right hand side of the road attached to the black fronted Norfolk brick building. The gate is large and requires a handle to be turned to open, then the gate pushed to access the courtyard. If you have any concerns questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us

  1. Mr Nick Powell

This was the first time staying at stable cottage with our 2 dogs and the first time using pack holidays, the cottage was lovely and well presented on arrival, situated in a lovely quiet area our 2 dogs enjoyed exploring the garden, we visited a few of the lovely beaches and very impressed on how clean they were, also had some lovely walks along the weavers way and the 2 local woods. The cottage met all our requirements and loved the welcoming touches highly recommend a stay and we would certainly use pack holidays again.

  2. Dennis and Sally

We stayed at Stable Cottage last week and were very impressed. It met all our needs and those of our 9 month old Labrador on his first holiday away from our home county. A crate was provided for him, along with a generous chill-out area for him, which he made regular use of. He made himself right at home, as did we. The owners, Simon and Felicity, along with Gail, were kindness itself. On what was to be our last day we had a family bereavement in the county and we requested another night’s stay. Not only did they agree, but refused to accept payment for the extra day. We were so touched. Highly recommended, and we would go back in an instant

  3. Irena, Roy, Dawn, Nick and Dogs

We had such a lovely stay, comfortable cottage and we all enjoyed watching the birds. The location of the cottage is a great base, near to the Broads and coast. Happisburgh beach was great and definitely our favourite – Max met a seal! We also went to the local garden centre which was lovely for scones and cakes.

  4. Marianne, Tony, Eva and Alfie

We had a fantastic stay, everything you need. Simon being on hand if you need any help was great. The Lighthouse Inn provides great food, with a very friendly landlord, well worth a visit. We are hoping to return and thank you so much for all the lovely arrival treats we got!

  5. Jennifer and Peter, Millie and Basil

Lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage – Everything you need. Harvey woof woof thoroughly enjoyed the beaches as did we. Lovely Norfolk countryside.
Lovely fruit cake and the fudge is delicious. Harvey enjoyed his doggy biscuits. Thank you very much

  8. Dorothy + Elizabeth

We have had a fantastic few days days here, have come with our Collie chaos friends 6 adults and 13 dogs, 3 cottages. such fun and laughter, marvellous accommodation all we could possibly need for our comfort and all the dogs.
here in the stable we have Ellie and Misty and the others are staying close by. Misty just loves that she can look over the wall, balanced on a small brick to see Gem, Leo, Wiggey, Merlin, Danny and Cracker in the dairy. Then great excitement when Ruby, Bongle, Bradley, Meg and Jake arrive through the other gate. Breakfast and Dinner altogether what could be better

  9. Karl and Louise + dogs

Had a lovely few days here at Stable cottage, we have now stayed in all 3 of Simon and Felicity’s properties here. Found Stable to be very spacious and airy, equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break. The dogs loved the garden, plenty to explore and sniff, the weather was very hot so found Bacton woods and the beach at night the best for the dogs.
    Thank you, will be back.

Another fab Pack Holiday 🙂 The most comfortable beds EVER!!! We’ve managed to wear all 4 dogs out after trips to Wells, Bacton Woods and Cromer. Looking forward to visiting again to enjoy this peaceful cottage and it’s beautiful garden with lots of bird life, listening to their morning chorus. Thanks for a great few days

  13. Helen & Greg

We had such a warm welcome to Stable Cottage, North Walsham with Kettle crisps, the most delicious cookies and a pint of milk waiting for us (and some special biscuits for our doggy too!) The cottage had everything we needed for a week away at our home from home. Bath towels, a ‘Who Gives a Crap’ toilet and kitchen roll, cleaning products and antibac gel and even an eco egg if we wanted to do some washing. Our dog wasb’t left out either with a towel, bed, throws and most everything else he may need too!.
The cottage is an ideal central location to visit so many dog friendly attractions. We took our dog to:
    – Redwings Horse Sanctuary in Aylsham
    – A Broads 2 hour boat tour from Wroxham
    – The Bure Valley steam train from Wroxham to Aylsham (and back)
    – Mundesley beach (you can walk dogs along the prom and they can go on the beach at the end of the prom)
    – Happisburgh beach (unrestricted for dogs but not a lot there apart from toilets)
    – Cromer (dogs can be walked along the prom, on the pier and can go on the beach at the end of the prom)
    – The Doggy Diner in Cromer which has a great fun menu for dogs as well as humans
    – Bacton Woods which was lovely and shady on a very hot day
North Walsham itself is a lovely town to walk around and very dog friendly – We had a wonderful brunch at The Shambles with our dog and spent hours browsing the many charity shops, some of which were happy to have dogs too! Thank you for sharing this lovely cottage in this beautiful part of the country, for responding to our texts so quickly before and during our holidays and for recognising that dogs are a part of our family too!
P.S. our dog has never been given so many treats from so many people than he has this week!!!

  14. David and Siobhan Dawson

This is our first visit to Norfolk. We have loved this area so much that we have booked to return in September (before we left Stable Cottage). The cottage is beautiful and well furnished / maintained. The garden is the most beautiful, wildlife-friendly oasis. We have three very active Border Collies and they loved it!! Cottage owners Simon and Felicity are a wonderful pair of hosts

  15. Anne & Graham, Bertie & Rupert 🐾

What a fabulous week we have had, beautiful cottage, fabulous weather, would come back in a heartbeat. It was made even more specialy by a daily visit from a female backbird with a broken wing (we called her Barbara. She came inside the cottage and we have some lovely photos. Please continue to give her scraps etc…
    A VERY BIG THANK YOU!!!

  16. Sue, Neil & Betty-Boo

Dear Gail & All at Pack Holidays
We’ve had an absoloutely wonderful time staying here at Stable Cottage, North Walsham. Our dog loved the many walks we could do from here or just a short train ride away. So luxurious to have a washing machine and so much room. A great array of plates, pots and pans plus cutlery, everything was spot on!
The dog treats, dog bed, bowls plus human treats were such a lovely touch and very welcoming.
    Thanks so very much!

  17. Mike, Kora, Barney and Jem

Thanks for the welcoming treats – dogs loved the biscuits. The weather is wonderful as is the location for all of North Norfolk. The bed is comfortable and extremely well equipped amenities (a sharp knife is the only thing missing but we understand why!) A truly wonderful outdoor space for us all to relax in, is a bonus. Thank you for everything. We recommend The Bluebell Inn, Bacton Woods, Southrepps Common Nature Reserves, Horsey Gap, Cart Gap – especially good for doggies. Pigneys Wood – very local and useful

  18. Gemma and Phil Dore and Harry the greyhound

This is our first holiday with our dog Harry: thank you for helping to make it a memorable one. We explored the local beaches, Harry particularly enjoyed Winterton and Sea Palling (had a doggie ice cream at Sea Palling too!) Bacton Woods was a favourite with us all and we recommend the walking trails / gardens at Felbrigg Hall (National Trust). We had drinks in the lovely garden at the Vernon Arms and enjoyed a gorgeous lunch at The Lighthouse Inn, Walcott. Thank you again for an enjoyable week. We look forward to booking another Pack Holiday soon
