Reactive Friendly Award Details

2 Star⭐⭐

Herring House is a 2 star Reactive Friendly Pack Holidays cottage. Here are the reasons why, but also more importantly, what aspects of the cottage may not be suitable for your reactive.

Herring House is situated in a quiet area of Winterton village.  There are neighbours around in the surrounding cottages and a cottage next door that shares a dividing wall.  The height of the courtyard wall and fences is between 5 and 6 feet high around, and the courtyard is accessed via the main door.

Parking is in a designated parking space outside of the courtyard, so do secure dogs when exiting from the car until you are in the courtyard.
There are quiet walks nearby (some local bridle paths and access to the dunes, via a pathway at the end of the lane.   As it is in the village, there is no surrounding farmland and no reports of hearing bird scarers at all.

As there is a path to the dunes at the end of the lane, you may well see other people / dog walkers taking this route.

What a lovely place, well kitted out with everything we needed, loads of throws and towels for the dogs.  Was a bit worried it may be cold as its November, but there was a log burner and we didn’t need it!!  The place was super toastie and warm and comfortable.  The TV even had Netflix which was a bonus for dark nights.  It was a minutes walk to super beaches and sand dunes for the furbabies and a real dog friendly pub  for the hoomans.  5 STAR!

Would highly recommend the Royal China Chinese takeaway in Martham just 5 mins drive.  You’ll never go hungry with their large and tasty portions.  Would definitely stay here again.  Highly recommended for a quiet, restful holiday

Thanks

Herring House, Winterton on Sea

Lovely holiday.  There were 4 dogs this year.  Max is a black poodle about 1 year old – he was found abandoned in a skip along with his two brothers.  We couldn’t resist him, he loved the beach and the sea.  The other three, Lucy, Mylo and Tilly couldn’t keep up with him.  Thank you from them all !   Doggy paradise

A lovely holiday for us two and our four flat coated retrievers.  Loved the dunes and the beautiful pristine beach with seals close to the shore and bobbing up as if they wanted a game with the dogs.  Best visit was the gardens at East Ruston Old Vicarage and we enjoyed Cromer (fresh crabs) and Thrigby Hall walled garden.  Herring House was lovely and had all we needed

Had a woderful time helped by great weather,  Local beach fantastic for walking with Stan.  Travelled inland to Reedham and walked along the river to the Mill.  Nice pub on the riverside there just people-watching.  Cromer and the beach at West Runton are well worth a visit.  The cottage is very well equipped and clean.  As promised all the throws and dog equipment were more than adequate.
