10 reviews for Vale Cottage, Bacton

  1. Love Lindsey, Matt, Gillian and Alan and Eider

In our hour of need, Gail couldn’t have been more helpful or supporting providing us with this beautiful house where my dad was able to start his recovery for his fractured leg.
Thank you so much, and we are hoping to come back and stay again one day when we can fully enjoy the area

  2. Dawn Robin Rory and Coco

What a lovely house. We had a wonderful time, walking the dogs on the beach and visited Horsey to see the seals and their pups
We visited the Poachers Pocket where the staff and locals were very friendly
We had a lovely meal in the Lighthouse Inn which was very reasonably priced
We also visited The Mill House pub at Happisburgh. The landlord came over and talked to us for 20 mins telling us about the pub and his fears for the future as the sea gets ever closer
We loved the hot tub and after a quick shower in the morning, went and enjoyed the warmth and bubbles for 30 mins or more
Another extremely enjoyable holiday – Many thanks to the owners and Gail

  3. Sally, James, Bailey

Had a lovely 3 days at Vale Cottage. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable and peaceful break. The log burner added to the cosiness of the cottage and very welcome during storm Darragh.
Just down the road is Carmel’s Vegan cafe, which was an added bonus for us, such a treat to eat somewhere totally vegan. Food is excellent and owners very friendly and welcoming.
Bacton Woods and the disused canal are great for a walk with your dog.
Can highly recommend Vale cottage. Thank you to Gail and the owners for letting us stay.
Sally, James and our dog Bailey

  4. Jane, Yvonne and Ollie

A quiet week for us – was just what we needed
Ollie loved the beach – we hardly saw anyone! (Going up Coast Road and then right at the Chinese is much quicker than along Walcott Road, past Cafe Carmel and down Keswick Road)
We did one field walk and a bit of the Paston Way at the side of the Chinese which was a nice change. (You can join the Paston Way at the side of the Chinese and then walk a few fields – great track – and you’re at the lovely church. From there its quiet lanes back into the village)
Mum enjoyed the change of scenery and Watsons Cafe are very dog friendly and was close enough for mum to walk to.
We were very lucky with the weather – the only drizzle we had was yesterday afternoon – but we were already in for the day by then anyway
You can hear the sea from the garden at night and it was a joy to hear the owls too
    We’d definitely come again

  5. Sue Jones and Family

Lovely and peaceful but close to Walcott, happisburgh and Cromer, Grandkids loved the hot tub, the cottage had everything you need. Will recommend to friends and hope to stay again. Thank you so much Gail and the team, and the wonderful owners.

We have had a lovely stay at Vale Cottage. Perfect for kids and adults. Bacton beach is a stones throw away and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and water The dogs loved it too
On the second day we took a boat trip on the Norfolk Broads That was good value for a 1.5 hour trip, we saw some lovely houses and local wildlife
The Kingfisher fish and chips provided a lovely dinner one night. We called ahead and then went to collect It was delicious and good value for money
The kids absolutely loved the hot tub. A great addition to this cottage
Lastly we went to see the seals at Horsey beach. £3.50 to park, so a cheap visit to see them in their natural habitat. Couldnt believe how many of them there were and so close.
All in all a very comfortable, relaxing 4 day break – would definitely recommend. Thank you
