Reactive Dog Guide
The Nethergate is a 2 Reactive Friendly Pack Holidays cottage. Here are the reasons why, but also more importantly, what aspects of the cottage may not be suitable for your reactive. The Nethergate is situated on a fairly quiet road one street away from the beach. Dogs must be supervised in the garden as there is a low fence to the neighbours garden. There is a dedicated car parking space in the driveway leading to the small private garden and once secure in the house, dogs can be let into the garden on leads but please be aware of the low fence between the properties. Dogs should be on leads walking throughout the town but there are many local off lead walks where your dogs can wander for hours.

What an absolutely beautiful cottage The Nethergate is and has everything you need and then some! it is beautifully decorated and the beds are so comfortable! It has an enclosed garden which is great for sitting out in with the doggies and has a driveway right in front of the cottage. It is ideally located as you literally only have to take 50 steps from the door and you are on Kinghorn Beach and the stunning Pettycur Bay is just a 15 min walk from the cottage
We also walked the dogs on the beautiful Kinghorn Golf Course as well took them to Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy. This holiday was booked for myself and my best friend as I am a carer for my parents who need 24/7 care and I wanted to be able to switch off, relax and breath and my goodness me, I was able to do that! Tahra was so friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay and I would absolutely recommend this cottage to all of my family and friends. We hope to go back another time. Alot of wonderful memories were made here in beautiful Fife. Thank you again Tahra

We are just back from another fabulous break here. We chose to come back as it’s just the perfect cottage in a perfect location and it’s super dog friendly! The beach is just round the corner and it’s lovely, not busy so plenty of space to run around with your dog. There’s even a tide times poster in the kitchen so you know whens best for hitting the beach! We were lucky with the weather and spent most of our time on the beach and in the water which was glorious! There are plenty of walks to be had and it doesn’t really matter which direction you choose to go there’s a path and something to see! As for the cottage itself there really is everything you could need. It’s got one of the most well appointed kitchens I’ve ever seen in a holiday let…it’s even got things you never knew you needed! There is a large bathroom with a really deep bath and also a shower room with a really decent shower. The beds and the pillows are really comfortable and there is ample storage to put your clothes. The living room has really comfortable couches and as long as you put a blanket on it the dog is allowed up as well…mine was very happy about this! There’s a lot of living space inc a huge dining room. There is a smart tv so you can watch anything you’d normally watch at home and there’s also a load of dvds, games and books so not much chance of being bored here! For the dogs there are multiple beds available and loads of blankets to lie on. There are some really good dog height viewing windows as well if they are nosy like mine! There are also dog bowls and towels and a handy hose outside to clean paws before going inside. The cottage is really clean and tidy but it’s not pretentious with thousands of rules like some places have so you really do feel comfortable and like it’s a home from home! There’s a lovely wee garden out the front that’s got lovely flowers and wee nightlights and is secure unless you have a large dog that likes jumping gates…like mine!! All in all we’ll be coming back here again and again as it’s just perfect for us and I’d 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in a lovely quirky wee cottage that’s almost on the beach!

Fourth time I’ve stayed at The Nethergate and it really is the best place I’ve stayed in Scotland! Beautiful house that is mega dog friendly – we came with four! Everything you could wish for – a real home from home. Lovely large lounge with lots of doggie beds available too. A great kitchen again, with every thing you could need. Beds are super comfortable. I never sleep in late but I was having late sleep ins cos I was snug as a bug! The weather was really nice so it was lovely to sit in the garden with a cuppa and the dogs. Fantastic beach literally just around the corner and then the Fife Coastal walk. Also Kinghorn Loch is a lovely walk for the pooches. Lots of lovely places to visit which are not too far ( I highly recommend Culross and Aberdour for a trip out). Tahra is the perfect host – nothing is too much trouble and she’s only a call/text away if there’s any problem – which there never is! Thank you again Tahra for another fabulous stay! xx

It’s the most comfortable and well appointed holiday home you could wish for. The dogs love it and even though the garden is small it’s literally 5 minutes to the dog friendly beach. Kinghorn has everything you need and there’s a great coastal walk from the door
