There is 5.5 feet high fencing all around the rear of the garden, so is very secure. The cottage has fields on the other side of the very quiet local road. To date, we have had no reports of bird scarers but we will keep an eye on this! Three dogs are very welcome and more by prior arrangement

We’ve really enjoyed our time here.
Heron Cottage has everything you could need. Thank you for the welcome pack, Buddy loved his treats. The Swan Inn at Stalham was a great place to eat. Very dog friendly, delicious food and generous portions. Probably best to book a table though. Poppylands is fab and down the road to Horsey Gap beach where you can see the seals swimming Veras Coffee Shop good for breakfast. Bacton Woods has lovely trails to follow, Buddy has had the best time as have we!

  5. Karen Holman

Just back from a much needed stay at Heron Cottage. The cottage is lovely, very clean, and well equipped with everything you would need. The location was quiet, and peaceful. The beaches are spectacular, and sometimes we had a vast stretch of beach to ourselves. We had some great walks in Bacton woods, and along the coastal path at Horsey. I can’t recommend this cottage highly enough. It was just perfect for the three of us. Thanks Gail and team x

  6. John Awen & Dr Ruth Awen

My Wife Ruth and I, plus our two dogs Pagan & Daisy had the privilege of staying at Heron Cottage in North Norfolk courtesy of Pack Holidays.

An incredible cottage nestled in the North Norfolk countryside this place is an absolute haven and an idyll.

From the moment we arrived and parked on the drive, the Cottage was very inviting and we all totally loved it.

Gail and her team work tirelessly to ensure that your stay is comfortable and that nobody, 2 legged or 4 pawed is left wanting for anything.

I cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be booking with them again.

Thank you so much and much credit to you all.

    John, Ruth, Pagan & Daisy.

  7. Amalia Moodie

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Heron Cottage. Couldn’t fault it. Had everything we needed. The sun room was a delight. Couldn’t convince Bowen to use the donut bed, but he loved the garden and was so relaxed. Considering he’s blind and has mobility issues, he coped really well.
Great location for easy access to many beaches and lots of other attractions in the area.
    Thank you Gail xx
I have already recommended you to family and friends. Can’t wait to stay in one of your lovely cottages again.

A lovely relaxing break in a good location to explore many beaches and sites including St Benets Abbey, a sail on the Norfolk Broads, Poppylands and many more. Thank you xxx

  9. Mandy, Andrew, Bearner and Bertie xx

Hi Gail, thank you for a peaceful week that we have enjoyed at Heron Cottage. We found the property well equipped and the dogs were very chilled out, especially in the garden room!! We also loved having our morning coffee and evening glass of wine in the garden room.
Many thanks for the welcome pack, it was much appreciated. The dogs loved their biscuits but we didn’t use the licky mat as my boys are golden retriever crosses and would have most likely eaten the mat too!!
We found the walk just across the junction which was perfect for early morning and evening walks, it was so peaceful with just bird song and rustling trees and majestic deer to watch.
    Best wishes xxxx

What a beautiful cottage. We have loved spending lots of time in the garden as well as exploring the countryside and the local area. Our dogs both loved the donut bed so much that we have bought them one each to be picked up when we get home.
    A fantastic week!!! xxx
