Dava Lodge, Forres

Dava Lodge, situated in gorgeous Moray at Tullochwood Lodges is available for both long and shorter breaks throughout the year. Minimum stay is often just 2 nights , any week day for arrival is fine (Except Sundays, but these can often be accommodated by arrangement, so if you need a Sunday arrival please do contact me).

Dava is of a timber construction and designed to blend in with the natural surrounds.  It is well appointed, functional and a perfect place to destress, get back to nature with your dogs and enjoy the fabulously peaceful woodland setting nearby.

The lodge is very well-insulated with electric heating in all of the rooms and with an electric stove in the living area for further comfort.

Dava is ideal for a couple or small family. The lodge is finished to a high standard.

You will be welcomed personally to Dava as our lovely owners live on site, and are on hand.

We are delighted you are bringing your dog(s). Please do be aware that there are other people and dogs on site. For this reason, if you have an overtly reactive dog, this may not be the most suitable choice for you. If you have a very friendly soul please do keep a lead with you as dogs at other lodges may not be quite as friendly. Please do of course let them off the lead in the woods. We would be very grateful if you could ensure dogs do not jump on bedding etc.
If you wish to go out, dogs are welcome to stay in the lodge for a few hours unattended, as long as you bring a suitable crate with you. We have two dogs and they treat their crates as home, but we fully appreciate some dogs do not like like crates, so if this is the case, all we would then ask is if you go out, then your dogs must go with you, Our main aim is to ensure that visiting dogs are happy and not distressed in any way

Living Room / Kitchen and Dining Area

The living room and kitchen/dining area are open plan and well equipped for your comfort.

There is comfortable seating for 4 people, dining table for 4, 28 inch Freeview TV plus DVD player in the living area (with a large selection of DVDs to borrow from the Information Lodge), and microwave, fan oven, hob and fridge in the kitchen.  The fridge is an under the counter fridge with icebox

Bedrooms

The first bedroom has a very comfortable double bed, storage facilities, bedside lamp and a lovely view over the area.  The second bedroom has comfortable twin beds, storage facilities, bedside lamp and a lovely view over the area.

Towels can be provided for your stay at an extra charge of £2 per set (you can select this on your booking form)

Bathroom

The bathroom is furnished with a modern suite equipped with bath (and electric shower.in the bath)

What We Provide

• Free WiFi
• A ‘starter pack’ of washing up liquid, tea towels, oven gloves, toilet and kitchen rolls
• There is a purpose-built laundry (commercial size machines with 2 regular domestic types too) just a minutes walk from the lodge.  Do bring your own washing liquid to suit your requirements.  (There is an honesty box for use at £2.50 a load).  You can find a key in the lodge to access the laundry.  Use of the facility is from 2pm daily, or whenever not in use by other guests.
• There is a large play area with games court, climbing frame and swings, and our wooden play house called ‘Little Tulloch’.
• We can provide a travel cot (or two!), preferably please bring your own cot linen as babies tend to settle better this way.  We can however provide linen if required, just let us know before you arrive,
• High chairs are also available
• There is a BBQ facility located on the beach at the lochan and there are a few portable BBQ’s around the site for you to use close to your lodge. Many guests choose to use the disposable variety as it saves on cleaning
• Two parking spaces available but there are ample parking facilities within the grounds of the lodges.  If you have a very long vehicle or have a trailer please advise before arrival so as we can advise

Please Note:

Electricity is not built into the cost of the lodge as usage varies from season to season and from one guest to the next.  When we welcome you into your lodge, we will show you how your lodge works, answer any questions you may have and give you a map with guidance notes on the local area, and we will write down the initial reading on a simple form, then upon departure,  please read the meter again and note the final reading.  The difference between the two numbers is how many units have been used.  Please leave the appropriate payment in an honesty box in their lodge.

Towels are not supplied but can be requested for a small extra charge of £2 per set (please select number of sets on booking)

Bonfires and fireworks are not allowed
