This September, I (and my three collie companions โ Jeff, Dara, and Freda!) had the absolute pleasure of spending four fabulous nights at The Beach House in Looe, Cornwall โ one of the gorgeous, dog-friendly cottages in the Pack Holidays portfolio. And no stay in Cornwall is complete without a perfect Cornish pasty. Soooooo good I only took a photo after I’d eaten half of it!!!
๐ก A Warm Welcome and Perfect Setup
The Beach House is beautifully laid out all on one level, which made it ideal for the dogs (and me, too!). The secure decking was a huge plus โ nice and spacious, giving Jeff, Dara, and Freda plenty of room to sniff around and watch the world go by safely.
You can park outside the cottage for 30 minutes to unload (super convenient!) and then itโs just a short walk down to the main car park. I let the dogs explore the decking while I unpacked, and did the same when we left โ it made everything easy and relaxed.
๐๏ธ Comfort, Cosiness, and Canine Comfort
Inside, the cottage felt instantly warm and welcoming. Leigh, the owner, had really thought of everything โ including plenty of throws for the sofas (which were very comfy!). The whole place felt homely and well-equipped, the kind of cottage you settle into instantly.
We all enjoyed relaxing evenings after our walks, and it really did feel like a โhome from home.โ
๐ Beach Walks and Beautiful Views
The beach is only a two-minute walk away, which is just perfect for morning strolls or evening potters. There are grassy areas just below the cottage for quick exercise breaks too (I keep mine on leads when away โ thatโs just me, but it worked perfectly).
The views from the cottage are beautiful โ you can see the sea and enjoy that lovely fresh coastal air.
๐ Dog-Friendly Eats
We had a wonderful breakfast at The Beach Shack, just opposite the beach. Itโs brilliantly dog friendly โ we sat inside with all three dogs, and they were made so welcome. Lovely food, great coffee, and a super relaxed vibe.
๐งญ Exploring Cornwall
During our stay, we explored some of Cornwallโs highlights โ all fabulously dog friendly!
๐พ Tintagel โ absolutely fabulous. Full of history, magic, and spectacular coastal views.
๐พ The Eden Project โ dogs are allowed everywhere outside, and itโs such a fascinating and inspiring place to visit.
๐พ Mevagissey โ a stunning, traditional fishing village with winding streets and wonderful coastal scenery.
๐พ Bodmin Moor โ wide open spaces, breathtaking landscapes, and a real sense of peace and freedom (the collies loved it!).
Everywhere we went, we were met with smiles and wagging tails โ Cornwall really is a paradise for dog lovers.
๐พ Final Thoughts
Four relaxing, fun-filled days exploring beautiful Cornwall โ with a warm and welcoming base at The Beach House. Everything about it was spot-on: location, comfort, and dog-friendliness.
If youโre looking for a dog-friendly break with plenty to do and see, I can wholeheartedly recommend The Beach House in Looe.
Jeff, Dara, and Freda give it three big paws up each! ๐พ๐พ๐พ
