3 Star Reactive Dog Friendly

3 Star Reactive Dog Rated

Snowdrop Cottage is a 3 star Reactive Friendly Pack Holidays cottage.  Here are the reasons why. Snowdrop is situated in a slightly quieter area of Winterton village (and not directly in the centre of the village).   It is in a residential street so there is more activity than in a very rural location, The garden is very secure with 5-6 feet high fencing all around. There are neighbours on both sides and there it is likely that there will be dogs in the cottages on either side so please be aware of this (in case of fence chasers or noise reactive dogs).  There is also a side gate (full height too) from the alley into the garden directly, rather than going through the house (if you choose - handy when coming back from the beach).   The gate is padlocked for extra security for you. There are no passers-by at this gate as it leads to an alleyway used by Snowdrop and the neighbouring property for access (and bin storage). The garden is accessed via the conservatory patio doors and dogs can be seen clearly/supervised from the conservatory and living room. Whilst there are neighbours on either side, the height of the fencing at Snowdrop means that being overlooked is extremely limited and people could only be seen if they chose to pop a head ‘over the fence’. It is a 5 min walk out of Chapel Road and to the right to access the dunes.  This is by far the quietest way to access the beach, but you can choose to go via the centre of the village if you choose. As it is in the village we have had no reports of bird scarers being heard in the village, but as there are other residents locally you may hear other residents dogs barking on occasion. Parking is on street at the front of the property with access directly through the cottage courtyard gate and to the front door.  The parking area is open so please be aware of this when exiting the car with dogs.   The dogs are secure as soon as the courtyard gate is closed. There is a sign on the gate stating there are dogs present in the cottage

Wonderful stay at Snowdrop Cottage, everyone enjoyed themselves
Bucket list achieved for seeing seals close up and taking the 3 dogs to the beach and them having a paddle and not panicking
Dogs annoyed the pigeons and blackbirds who came into the garden – they soon told them whose garden it was
Enjoyed watching the tide from the car park whilst enjoying an ice cream / cake and cream
    Cannot wait to return

What else can we say! Beautiful cottage – so well appointed and clean,
We were lucky to have beautiful weather so the garden was an added bonus for the dogs and us

Rolf and Ruby say thank you so much for all the doggy extras you provided
Thanks for a wonderful time xxxx

  32. Lea, Ernie and Scout

We have had a lovely time. We were lucky to be here in a heatwave, so our days settled into early morning walks on the dunes and the beach, relaxing in the garden and a leisurely lunch (we ate like kings thanks to Hirsts Farm Shop, Poppys and The Fishermans Return) then down to the beach mid afternoon to cool off in the sea breezes and watch the seals play in the sea. Back for dinner and an evening walk un the dunes listening to the birdsong and breathing in the honeysuckle and sea air.
Absolutely loved the cottage, it had everything we needed for a fabulous holiday. I think it was Scouts favourite holiday so far but she is from Norfolk so she is biased 😉 It was certainly one of ours. We look forward to returning

  33. Lea, Ernie and Scout

We have had a wonderful time at Snowdrop Cottage. The cottage is absolutely perfect and has everything a discerning dog needs and the owners!
We made good use of the lovely garden, the dunes and the beach as well as the pub and Poppys tea room
We didnt venture far as we were here in a heatwave but the cooling breeze from the sea meant temperatures were fine
We loved watching the seals surfing the waves
I will definitely be recommending Snowdrop Cottage to my friends and we look forward to returning

  34. Claudia and Alexander

We have had a fantastic time here, cant thank you enough

We enjoyed everything, dune walks, the beach and the time spent in the cottage and we had a perfect holiday
We will definitely be coming back xxx

  35. The Kerrys

Our 3rd visit to Snowdrop Cottage. Our first visit was back in 2018, so its lovely to see the garden changing and the changes in the cottage, however the familiar feel of the cottage, feels like another home. Our 3 dogs, Winnie, Dottie and Willow have loved their morning dune walks,, and my two boys have enjoyed beach digging and bowls in the garden. This year we went to The Steam Engine shed at Strumpshaw which was a great day and of course our annual trip to Roys toy store in Wroxham, We stayed at Sea Palling last year and Cromer next year but we always come back to Snowdrop

  36. Gail Adams

Our 6th stay at Snowdrop Cotage – nice to see my Shaz Art is still dotted around the cottage and garden!
Love how peaceful this place is. Wishing Morgan and Joe every success in their new venture.
The weather not as good as other stays in May, but still loving the tranquility of it all. New gate on the back is a big improvement for our big dogs not jumping it 🙂

  37. Anonymous

It’s been great going to the beach and swimming in the sea – cold but refreshing! I had alot of fun. One of my favourite memories is going for midnight walks down to the beach. The sky was so clear and we could see the stars, which were beautiful

Poppys Tea Room is great for coffee / breakfast / lunch and the fish suppers were great too at the take away. .

Gorgeous cottage – well presented, clean and all facilities provided. Fisherman’s return was our much frequented local, together with the Dunes Café. Also recommend the Nelsons Head at Horsey. First stay here and will definitely return, preferably to this cottage. Dogs enjoyed their stay too. Recommend to all friends and family. Thank you.

  59. Andrea, Mick + Evie and Cora

We’ve had a lovely time at Snowdrop cottage, everywhere is so dog friendly, lovely beach and wonderful walks.
Snowdrop cottage had everything we needed, great open space for the dogs to play in; Winterton is so pretty. Will definitely come back again.

    Thank you Pack Holidays!

  60. Jane, Steve + Daisy, Jazz and Pixie

We’ve had a lovely relaxing week. Dogs were in heaven with all the walks + will be very sad to go home. Very well equipped + comfortable cottage + the village is so dog friendly. We’ve had dinner at the Fishermans Return most nights, excellent, good value food + dogs very welcome – even our 3 mad springers!! The cafe is great too for coffee after a walk + a very indulgent cake!

I’m sure we will be back soon!!

  61. Mr and Mrs Ball, Poppy and Daisy

Hi there. Thank you – we have had a wonderful time and the cottage has been just perfect for us and the dogs. Having a secure garden has made it really relaxing for us!! We’ve loved the beach walks and coastal paths and even saw seals! We will defintely return! Thank you!!!

  62. Sally, Oz, Nell & Ruby & Anne, Bertie & Rupert

Another fantastic week at snowdrop!! This time I brought my BFF and her 2 chihuahuas along with my 3 chinese cresteds.

We’ve had an amazing week exploring the coast from Gorleston to Happisburgh and new converts to the beautiful Norfolk coastline.

I have booked for next year and I’m sure my BFF intends to do the same!

  63. Anita, Tony & Maddie 🐾

Lovely cottage, clean, tidy & very dog friendly (blankets, towels, bowls, crate (if needed) poop bags). Close to dunes, acces via end of road or down the alley. Comfortable bed & pillows, slept well.

Places of interest, Horsey Gap – for lovers of seals. They swim close to shore!” You can also see the odd one on winterton beach too. We visited the wind pump and walked the river at Horsey too!

Fishermans Return pub, friendly , food good, dogs allowed. Doing a good job under Covid regulations. Went to Wroxham and the Barns, Hemsby 😞, brief visit to Ludham (very busy), very nice.

Will recommend and probably return again

    Thank you

  64. Shaz, Shawn, Mazi, Zeus & Lexie

Love, Love, Love this place – feels like home from home
Weather Mixed – sunshine, heavy rain and covid meant pub closed 😒
Nice Walks with the dogs on the beach.
Caught up with sleep after a very tiring 2020.
Be back here in November! Can’t wait

  65. The Kerry’s

Our third year at Snowdrop and once again we loved it. The weather was not completely on our side, but we carried on. Amazing day at Wroxham Barns, a damp afternoon snuggled up inside on the paddle steamer and pub food and lots of chippy teas. We also saw more seals this week than the previous years put together!

  66. Cathy & John, Bluebell, Sailor, Piper & Storm xx

We have had a fabulous holiday at Snowdrop Cottage. John & I have really relaxed and I can honestly say the chihuhauas have had a great doggy holiday. The closeness to the Dunes has been a great bonus and Winterton beach is gorgeous. The weather was the icing on the cake and we all didn’t want to go home.

So thank you Gail, we will book again. Thank you for the welcome pack, much appreciated.

We absolutely love Winterton, as we do Norfolk, Our favourite place.

    Love from

  67. Dee & Co

Another perfect stay at Snowrdop ❤️. Each time go home relaxed and refreshed – perfect short stroll to the dunes all the dogs love – as ever time has gone too quickly, which means have already booked our next stay.

The New Edge Airstream on the beach is great for coffee and food.

Until the next very much anticipated return.

  68. Heidi, Nicki, Mabel, Maggie and Lola

    Overall we give Snowdrop 5⭐.

The village was lovely, took the dogs into the pub and the tea room without any problems. The only things we missed were kitchen scales (guessed cooking measurements and dog food) and washing powder to use the washing machine (especially when the dogs wet feet got on the cover on the settee!)

We will definitely be coming again!

  69. Garlick Family

We had a fantastic holiday at snowdrop. It was a home from home. Being so close to the dunes was brilliant for our 3 dogs and having dog towels and toys helped us feel confident that the dogs were really welcome. The beds were very comfortable and even though it was freezing and wet a lot of the time the property was well heated so we were never uncomfortable. We were able to take the dogs for long runs between the rain as we were so close to the dunes, so the weather wasn’t an issue! All the extras were very much appreciated, We made good use of the cooker and utensils.

  70. The McGees!

We have all had a lovely stay at Snowdrop Cottage.

So local to Martham boats which was a fab day trip with short walk to see the seal (aprox 200)

Easy walks to the dunes which our dogs, 10 year old & 7 year old loved!

Winterton is such a beautiful place and we loved our costy cottage 🙂

We loved our walks to the beach, relaxing in the garden, and visited Happisburgh beach Plus a trip to Norwich and the Cathedral for an afternoon out. All in easy reach. We will miss it here very much and look forward to our next visit. Thanks again

  74. Sharon, Steve and Blake

Thank you Gail and the team for another lovely stay in Norfolk. A slightly different holiday this year with me recovering from a bad back but how nice to have all the comforts of home, especially the comfy bed!! Hubby and Blake have enjoyed lots of lovely beach walks, circular walks and I managed a short walk along the Broads at Horsey Wind Pump yesterday. We’ve enjoyed lunches at Poppy’s, The Fishermans Rest and Waxham Barns Cafe. This was our 4th year of Pack Holiday accommodation. I’m sure we will be back next year!!! Thank you

A wonderful, relaxing week in beautiful Snowdrop Cottage. Not too hot for the dogs and they enjoyed the sea, as did we. When we were swimming, the seals would pop their heads up nearby which was a lovely experience. Definitely recommend the Fishermans Return and the fish and chip shop. We especially enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings listening to the waves crashing onto the beach nearby. Also, we visited Hoveton Hall, if you like beautiful gardens, walking around here is stunning, especially the circular walk. We will definitely be back. Thank you Gail and your team for providing a wonderful cottage

  76. Jo, Laurie and Hugo

What a place to be on the 2 hottest days of the year! Scorchio! The beach and sea was just perfect for us and Hugo! Its our fourth time in Winterton, we love it. The Boathouse was our find this time on OOrmesby Broad. Lovely setting for lunch and the ploughmans was HUGE! Thank you to Gail and all the team. We loved Snopwdrop

  77. Jan

Had a lovely holiday and fell in love with Winterton. Beautiful cottage so close to the dunes and beach. The dogs are exhausted! Could do with staying longer! Look forward to coming back! Loved watching the seals at Horsey Gap.

Thank you for providing such a clean and welcoming place for both dogs and humans. Everything is designed to allow everyone to settle quickly and make the most of Snowdrops proximity to the beach. The three dogs, Flame, Ember and Fliq had a wonderful time as usual. The love the beach, the walks, the house and the garden, Snowdrop is their favourite cottage!

  79. Sally and the cresties Oz, Ruby and Nell xxx

Another fabulous week at cute little Snowdrop. Always a pleasure to pull up outside and know that you and your dogs are going to feel at home from home the moment you step inside. You can just kick back and relax or head out and explore all the fabulous dog friendly beaches, cafes and pubs etc
Nothing is too much trouble, Gail is just an email away if there is ever a problem, not that we have ever had one! Thank you Gail and all the Pack Holidays teams (including Diane) for all you do and for making my first Snowdrop holiday on my own (and dogs!) an experience I will never forget. Looking forward to our next Pack Holiday already!
