Reactive Dog Guide
Sheephaven Cottage is situated on a working farm with sheep, hens, ducks and geese. Please be aware of this if your dogs are animal reactive. There is a fully enclosed front garden (4 feet hight) and the high stone and fence wall (approx 6 feet high) separates Sheephaven Cottage from Laverock Lodge. There is access to a 6 acre dog playfield with views onto the open fells. Exclusive use access to the paddock is by raising the flag at the entrance to the field to alert the owners if your dog is reactive and needs sole space in the paddock. If your dog has no recall, you have an 8 feet high deer fenced paddock just to the right of the cottage. There is also a 120 foot indoor agility arena for those who are trained in agility or those who would like a lesson
Accessibility guide
All on one level access, with partial disabled access (low level light switches, wheelchair accessible) and a full sized window in the main bedroom to show off the view!

Linda and Carollne –
Lovely cottage had everything we needed. Paddock is perfect for zoomies, plenty of safe space for fur babies. Good for exploring, just wish we could have stayed longer Thank you
Scott and Lynnn –
Our second visit, but first in this cottage. What an amazing week that we have had! Despite it latterly becoming extremely cold with some snow the cottage was so cosy. You forget that you are actually pretty much in the middle of nowhere here. A great place to escape from all the nonsense going on in the world. It was not just a holiday for us but for our fur babies also and they had a blast! Thank you Kieran and family for another lovely stay and we look forward to returning. All the very best for 2026!
