Seagull Cottage, Suffolk
Seagull Cottage is a gorgeously designed cottage in the heart of the charming coastal village of Pakefield, just a 5 minute walk to the beach. This unspoilt and quiet coastal village has a rich maritime history with charming fishermans cottages, a 19th Century lighthouse and charming beach huts. From the door, you can walk north along the promenade to Lowestoft, or south along the prom and the cliff top path towards Pakefield Church. Or how about the fabulous walk to Kessingland beach and back? (Kessingland Beach has a wide expanse of dunes and is probably one of the best wild beaches you will find on the Suffolk Coast). There are several dog welcoming pubs a short walk away, shops nearby and just a short 20 minute drive to Southwold.
The cottage has been charmingly restored by Clare, retaining so many original features such as the exposed brick fireplace and a gorgeous reconfigured staircase leading to the bedrooms. It is truly not just a dog welcoming haven but a fabulous home-from-home

Reactive Dog Guide
Seagull Cottage is a 2 Star Reactive Friendly Cottage, heading very much towards a 3 Star. It is in a residential street with plenty of street parking. Exit your dogs from the car on leads and once inside Seagull Cottage they are secure. The rear garden (accessed from the kitchen patio doors) is VERY secure, with solid fencing at 6 feet high all around. Whilst there are neighbours on either side, it is a very quiet street with little activity. The beach is a 5 min walk away and the beach itself is dog friendly all year round
Accessibility guide
Seagull Cottage has both bedrooms upstairs. The stairs are not steep and have a wider mid section a few steps from the bottom. Please do let me know if you have any accessibility questions

When You Arrive
There is plenty of on street parking on the quiet road outside Seagull Cottage. Enter through the front door to the porch where there are hooks for outdoor gear and space to leave shoes
Living Room
This beautiful living room has been lovingly restored and decorated beautifully (retaining many original features). with a feature fireplace and realistic electric stove. There is a very comfortable 3 seater and 2 seater sofa and a further large footstool, so kick back and enjoy watching a large Smart TV when relaxing in this cosy room.

The Dining Room
This elegant room has a further exposed brick feature fireplace and a reconfigured staircase making light work of going upstairs to bed! The dining table seats 4 and is perfect for enjoying meals together, playing games or just relaxing. There is a gorgeous dresser where you will find an extensive range of glassware, crockery and a selection of games too

Kitchen
This stunning and spacious kitchen is perfectly designed for you if you love to cook up a storm. It is modern, elegant and has everything you need, with fully integrated washer / dryer and dishwasher, an electric single oven and hob, fridge freezer (30/70), microwave, toaster and kettle. If you love your hot drinks, there is a Tassimo coffee machine, a cafetiere and a teapot. You can also enjoy the outside from inside, sitting at the bistro style seating whilst watching the dogs in the garden. French doors from the kitchen lead to the secure garden,

There is a convenient downstairs toilet located between the kitchen and the dining room

Bedroom 1
This beautiful bedroom is furnished with a bespoke king bed with a luxurious mattress. There is a feature cast iron fireplace and there is plenty of storage space for all your items. You will find a hair drying station and a TV. This bedroom has views to the rear garden
En Suite
This spacious (and frankly stunning) ensuite has a bath as well as a separate shower. It is beautifully decorated and utterly luxurioous.
Bedroom 2
This lovely bedroom has twin beds (which can be made into a superking bed if you wish) and features another cast iron fireplace. You will find plenty storage space in the in-built wardrobe and there is also a chest of drawers. This room also has a hair drying station and a TV.
Garden
The garden at Seagull Cottage is very secure with 6 feet high solid fencing and enjoys a sunny location to make the most of the weather whilst you are here. You will find a table and chair with a parasol, two sun loungers and a BBQ too. The garden has a patio section, path to the rear gate and some artificial grass to the left hand side.

What a gem of a cottage! Situated in a quiet street with ample parking, the cottage was perfect for a relaxing break.
It is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully furnished with everything we need for a getaway
The beds and sofas were really comfy and the garden was well used – we ate breakfast and evening meals out there every day!
The beach is just a few minutes walk in one direction and local shops and the bus stop are just a few mins in the other direction
There is a good choice of places to eat and drink within walking distance and it was a great base for exploring, we visited Southwold, Aldeburgh and Oulton Broad

A very beautiful home and practical which has everything you could possibly think of for a holiday by the sea
Pakefield is lovely with the best fish and chip shop just up the road and a brilliant gastropub that looks out to sea
Great value and would recommend it to anyone seeking a getaway. All you need is to pack your clothes and everything is on hand

Stunning cottage! Beautifully decorated and very comfortable! The location is perfect for exploring the area and the beach ….wow! Just the place for morning walks and the dogs loved it!
Breakfast at Zaks on the beach was great and the Jolly Sailors at the end of the road is worth a visit
Delicious fish and chips from the shop nearby

Seagull Cottage is perfect for discovering Suffolk’s coast and nature reserves
We stayed with elderly parents and they loved every minute. Clare thoughtfully provided everything we needed
The cottage is tastefully decorated , cosy and a short walk from fish and chip shops and pubs

The cottage is very cosy and beautifully decorated throughout. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need. The beds are very comfortable and the location is great!
Just a 2 min walk from the beach and the Jolly Sailors pub which is very dog friendly and does lovely food.
The second time we have stayed with Clare and we will certainly be returning next year!
