Poppyland, Winterton on Sea
Poppyland is situated in a quiet and peaceful spot on a private estate, well outside of the hub of Winterton village, it is the perfect place to get away from it all. It is clean, bright and recently modernised with a beach theme throughout.
Detached and all on one level, it has stunning, uninterrupted views of the dunes and the sea. The sea is about 250 metres away with private access to the dunes and beach directly from the fully enclosed garden.
Winterton on Sea is famous for its miles and miles (and miles) of sandy, glorious beaches and dunes, which are all wonderfully dog friendly. The lovely village of Horsey is just a few miles away via a coastal path walk and that’s where all the beautiful seal colonies congregate, especially in the winter.
Poppyland really is a very short walk to the beach and the village itself has a number of things to do. There is also a really lovely dog friendly pub nearby (Fisherman’s Return 20min walk/5min car), a lovely chip shop, Winterton beach café is about 20 minutes along the dunes or beach.
By Car: Easy access to local supermarkets (Co Op 5 mins, Tesco 15 minutes),
Yarmouth 25 minutes, Acle 20 minutes, The Broads 15 minutes, Horsey (Seals) 10 Minutes, Waxham 15 Minutes. Wide range of large Supermarkets and Retail Outlets are available in Great Yarmouth. Medical Facilities in Hemsby and Great Yarmouth. Restaurants, Bars, Arcades and fun for children in Hemsby and Great Yarmouth. Poppylands Café 10 minutes. Vets in Caister 12 minutes. Reactive Dog Guide
Poppylands is in a very quiet location, with little to no passing traffic as it is at the end of a dead end road. There are neighbours on either side but please note that there may also be dogs on either side and I cannot guarantee reactivity of dogs in either property. The garden fencing has recently been upgraded to increase the height. The fencing facing the dunes has been increased to 5.5 feet high, whilst not detracting from the view, it does ensure a high degree of safety. The fencing and hedging on either side of the cottage is secure and the front garden gates (8 feet high), once closed after parking your car in the driveway, are totally secure. Please note that Poppyland situation is a very quiet area with neighbours on both sides. We would respectfully remind guests to be mindful of excessive dog noises in the garden and round the house.
Location & Directions
When you arrive:
Parking for two vehicles on the secure and gated driveway (room for one car outside). Enter via the main side door onto the open plan kitchen/living area.
Open Plan Kitchen and Living Room
There is a small kitchen area as you walk into the side door, this is well equipped with electric oven, touch hob (4 rings), microwave and a small undercounter fridge freezer and a washer/dryer.
Go straight ahead into the main living area where you will find plenty of seating for 5 people, several lovely lamps, a 32-inch Smart TV and a dining table big enough for 5 with stunning uninterrupted views of the sea and dunes. There is a telescope if you fancy looking at the ships and wildlife. There are sliding patio doors to exit onto a small patio and into the garden.
There is a freezer for frozen goods in the dining area next to the patio door (small chest freezer type)
Bedroom 1 Master:
This room has stunning, uninterrupted views across the dunes and to the sea. There is a comfortable standard size double bed, side unit, lamp and a double wardrobe.
The shower room is to the rear of the bungalow and has a modern grey suite, tiled floor with a large, modern thermostatic shower cubicle. Toilet and Basin.
This room is furnished with twin beds, side unit, bedside lamp and two single wardrobes.
Is furnished with a single bed, side unit, small storage draws, large shelving space, bedside lamp and single wardrobe.
This lovely garden is fenced all the way round. To the front there are 8 feet gates and a wall and fence at a similar height, proving privacy. There are walls and hedges of 6 feet all the way around the garden and a small hedge then a fence and bolted gate on the dunes side of approximately 5.5 feet height. The garden is laid mainly to lawn and there is plenty of seating outside. There is an outside tap for washing dogs’ paws or dog drinking water.
The garden to the front has some seating and a washing line. The garden to the rear has separate seating. There are steps down to the dunes from the back garden but do note they are quite steep.

Poppyland is a non-smoking property and we would be grateful if you could respect this.
There are cottages on either side of Poppyland (it is a quiet area with limited noise) we ask that guests be aware of this
All major supermarkets deliver (ensure you provide instructions how to reach the property as the postcode won’t always work).
Poppyland has a refundable security deposit of £100
