A great cottage in a beautiful area, a great location for walking and enjoying the surrounding hills and countryside, with easy access in a car to local towns and places of interest. We always appreciate when there is tea, coffee and milk left for a brew on arrival and there were biscuits and other goodies left too, which was very much appreciated. Lorraine goes over and above to ensure her guests have a comfortable stay.
The property is cosy, well located and just as described.
We had a great stay and hope to be back in future.
Thank you
David –
Lorraines’ place is a welcoming, cosy and beautiful cottage in a stunning location. All mod cons but it retains its traditional character. The garden is a real bonus and the views from all of the windows over Pendle Hill and the surrounds are fantastic. Thanks Lorraine for a really wonderful stay.
Lucy and Robert –
Just back from a lovely break at Pendle View. Stunningly beautiful and peaceful area, it would be impossible not to relax. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well equipped for both humans and doggies. The village has two dog friendly pubs within a stone’s throw and there are so many walks nearby – we didn’t scratch the surface! We found a route for a 45mile drive on northcote.com which was well worth doing – taking in places such as Clitheroe Castle, Whalley Abbey and other really pretty villages we wouldn’t have otherwise known about. Overall a fantastic place and we would definitely go back!

Lorraine was an excellent host. She made sure our arrival was very smooth and helped us out during our stay
We had a great time with our family there and felt like we had plenty of space
The path to Pendle Hill is just across the street and other local attractions are within short walking / driving distance
This is definitely on our list for future holidays Thanks for having us

Warm welcome from Lorraine and family, including the lovely Bruce, who our dog Sully particularly liked.
Great enclosed garden, which we would have enjoyed more if the weather had been better
We have stayed in the area before and had walks and dog friendly pubs in mind for passing our time but Lorraine would have helped if we had needed recommendations and there were plenty of guidebooks to browse. We didnt cook but the kitchen was very well equipped
Dave, Sophie and Oscar –

Live like a local resident in a modern cottage in the quaint village of Barley. The front-facing windows look out to Pendle Hill, a favourite hiking destination for many hikers. For nature lovers, there are many hiking trails in the area. The grassy backyard features a patio with table and chairs, and a covered corner bench. Listen to the babbling water in the stream which flows directly behind the cottage. If you don’t want to cook your own meal in the well-equipped kitchen, visit the two local inns, Barley Mow and The Pendle Inn, for a tasty meal, a pint, or a glass of wine. If you want a cup of tea, walk over to The Croft Teagarden that is located in a nearby park. Lorraine and her son, Dan, are very helpful and friendly hosts who answered my queries very quickly. This is the second time that we have stayed in one of their cottages and we hope to be able to return again next year.
