Reactive Dog Guide
The Garden: Unlike some elevated properties, Oak Cottage features a fully enclosed garden with 4ft solid fencing. This provides a secure area for your dogs to enjoy the fresh air while you relax. Visual Privacy: Because the garden and cottage are elevated there is little to see. The solid nature of the fencing helps reduce ground-level distractions. Single Level: The entirely level interior is excellent for older dogs or those with limited mobility, providing a calm and easy-to-navigate sanctuary. 🐕
Accessibility guide
Oak Cottage is highly accessible thanks to the hillside terrain. The entrance door is 90cm wide with level access from the parking space. The interior is entirely level, with an 80cm wide door leading to the bedroom. The en-suite shower room features a large enclosure with a small 15cm step, grab rails, and a lever-tap basin.

🚪 When You Arrive The approach to Oak Cottage is over a natural gradient, allowing you to park right next to your private garden and entrance. Step through the wide 90cm door into a spacious, light-filled open-plan world.
🍳 The Kitchen & Dining The kitchen is modern and seamlessly integrated into the living space. The dining area features a wooden table with leather-effect chairs. It's a lovely spot for a romantic dinner while watching the light change over the Solway Firth.
🛋️ The Lounge The lounge is the perfect spot for snuggling up. It features a two-seater leather sofa, a fireside armchair, and a wood-burning stove. For tech lovers, there is a 42” flatscreen TV with a Blu-ray/DVD player. 🔥
🛌 The Bedroom & En-suite The large bedroom features a Super-King Zip & Link bed with generous 100cm clearance all around. It is equipped with its own TV and an iPod docking station. The adjoining en-suite shower room is bright and airy with slip-resistant flooring.
🌳 The Garden & Hot Tub Outside, you have a private, secure garden enclosed by 4ft fencing. This area houses your private hot tub, hardwood furniture, and a charcoal BBQ. It is the ultimate spot for stargazing or watching the sunset with your dogs safely by your side. 🛁🌌🐾

The Duke of Cumberland (1 mile): A fantastic, dog-friendly pub in Castle Carrock village. It’s a steady 20-minute walk down the hill (just remember it’s uphill on the way back!). 🍻
Talkin Tarn Country Park: A short 5-minute drive away. It features a lovely 1.3-mile circular walk around the lake—perfect for dogs who love a flatter stroll.
Gelt Woods: Beautiful ancient woodland and riverside walks are right on your doorstep. Follow the track from the bottom of the farm drive. 🌳🌊
Brampton (2 miles): The nearest market town for local shops, butchers, and a Coop for all your supplies.
