Gelt Cottage is a 2-Star Reactive Friendly property. Visual Privacy: The south-facing garden is enclosed to 4ft+. The patio doors offer a wide view of the garden and the fields beyond. Sound Insulation: Sturdy stone walls and a solid wood 80cm front door provide a very quiet, settled environment indoors. 🐕 Social Site: You may meet other guests and dogs on the shared driveways, but Gelt Cottage feels very private once you are in the rear garden.

Gelt Cottage is a traditional two-storey layout. While the lounge, kitchen, and dining areas are on the ground floor, both bedrooms and the house bathroom are located on the first floor. This property is best suited for guests and dogs who are comfortable with stairs.

🚪 When You Arrive Unloading is easy with private parking right outside your solid wood front door. Step into the hallway, which features hardwood flooring—ideal for managing those initial "wet dog" moments before they reach the carpets!
🍳 The Kitchen & Dining The cream Shaker-style kitchen is a highlight for the humans, featuring granite worktops, a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, and washer-dryer. The hardwood flooring continues through here, making it very dog-practical. The dining area is spacious and perfect for planning your trek to Talkin Tarn.
🛋️ The Lounge The lounge is a cosy, carpeted sanctuary featuring original beams and a wood-burning stove. Relax on the big leather sofas in front of the 42" LCD TV (with DVD player and iPod dock). Double patio doors open directly from the lounge into the garden, allowing the fells to feel like an extension of your living room. 🔥
🛌 The Bedrooms (Upstairs)
Bedroom 1 (Super-King): A spacious retreat with a Super-King bed, wall-mounted TV, and plenty of storage.
Bedroom 2 (King/Twin): A flexible room that can be a King-size or a twin. Includes a small wicker armchair—the perfect spot for a morning brew. Both bedrooms are carpeted for maximum paw-comfort. 😴

Step through the patio doors into your private, enclosed south-facing garden. The garden is laid to lawn for doggy sniffs and includes hardwood garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ. The decked area houses your private hot tub, where you can soak while looking across open fields to the Lake District. The boundaries are secure to just over 4 feet high. 🛡️🌅🛁

Are the bedrooms downstairs? No, Gelt is a traditional layout with living areas downstairs and both bedrooms/bathroom upstairs.
🧭 Locally & Useful Information
The Duke of Cumberland (1 mile): A fantastic, dog-friendly pub in Castle Carrock village. It’s a steady 20-minute walk down the hill (just remember it’s uphill on the way back!). 🍻
Talkin Tarn Country Park: A short 5-minute drive away. It features a lovely 1.3-mile circular walk around the lake—perfect for dogs who love a flatter stroll.
Gelt Woods: Beautiful ancient woodland and riverside walks are right on your doorstep. Follow the track from the bottom of the farm drive. 🌳🌊
Brampton (2 miles): The nearest market town for local shops, butchers, and a Coop for all your supplies.
