The Courtyard: The property sits in a shared and enclosed courtyard. While the courtyard can be made secure for dogs to roam, it is a communal area where you may encounter guests and pets from Corner Cottage. The owners ask that dogs are not left unattended in this area. 🛡️Farm Animals on Site: Resident alpacas (2), pet pigs (4), sheep (2), and goats (2), and free-roaming poultry are nearby. Dogs must be on leads when moving through communal farm areas and to/from your vehicle. 🦆🚫🐖Shared Spaces: The 2.5-acre orchard and 10 acres of grassland are shared with the other onsite cottages and the property owners. 🌳 Visual Triggers: There may be delivery vehicles and a ride on lawnmower plus 4 Border Collies on site 🤫🐾

Cottage Details: A Tour of The Coach House 🏡✨
Downstairs: Open-Plan Socialising 🍳🛋️ Access is directly from The Courtyard into a bright, welcoming open-plan living area. The ground floor combines a cosy lounge with a wall-mounted Smart TV (Netflix included), a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. You’ll find everything you need for home-cooked meals, including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, slow cooker and air fryer.
The First Level: Family Comfort 🛌🚿 One level up leads you to two of the three bedrooms:
- Bedroom 2: A comfortable king bedroom with ample storage.
- Bedroom 3: A bright twin bedroom.
- Family Bathroom: Featuring a bath with an overhead shower and infrared heating —ideal for warming up after a rainy walk!
The Top Level: The Master Retreat 👑⛰️ Up another half-flight of stairs is the Master Bedroom—a luxuriously spacious sanctuary. It features a Super King size bed (can be twin on request), fitted wardrobes, a vanity unit, and its own TV. The addition of a chaise longue allows you to relax in style while soaking up the fantastic courtyard and views of the beautiful landscape behind.
Outside: Courtyard Living & The Orchard 🍎🔥 Immediately outside is a semi-private seating area. It’s a wonderful spot to fire up the charcoal BBQ or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire pit under the stars.
Just beyond the parking area is The Orchard, a 2.5-acre enclosed field. Securely fenced with mesh (4ft) and high stone walls (9ft), it’s a safe haven for dogs to play. Children will also love the trampoline, swings, and slides located here.
Walks from the Door: While You’re Here 🥾🌲
- The Fairy Steps: A magical woodland walk through limestone crags.
- Arnside Knott: Famous for 360-degree views over the stunning Morecambe Bay.
- Cinderbarrow: A lovely local loop through quiet lanes and fields.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) ❓
How many dogs can I bring? We officially welcome 2 dogs, but Harry is very flexible! If you have 3 "little'uns," please just let us know, and we can usually accommodate them.
Is the courtyard secure? The courtyard is closed off and made secure with gates and sliding doors, but please remember it is shared with Corner Cottage next door, so it isn't a "private" enclosed space.
What about farm animals? We have resident alpacas, pigs, and poultry. For their safety and your dogs', we ask that all pets remain on leads in the communal farm yards.
Is it suitable for larger groups? Yes! If you have a group of up to 10, booking The Coach House and Corner Cottage together is a perfect solution.
