Reactive Dog Guide
The cottage has a secure garden. Dogs can roam freely safely in the cottage garden and cottage car park. The owners do have dogs (but they wont be seen). Please note that if you have animal reactive dogs, this cottage may not be for your dogs Please note there are farm animals on site so please do have dogs on a lead whilst exiting the garden if leaving the premises on foot. Out in the countryside dogs can be offlead and free range but always be mindful of passers by and walkers (as we always do 😊 )
Accessibility guide
Three bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs and one bedroom downstairs (with the bedroom downstairs being a bunk bed room). There are 9 steps leading up to the bedrooms on the second floor. Please let me know if you have any mobility issues

The Kitchen & Dining: Fully equipped with a gas hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer. The dining table seats seven, perfect for planning your next forest adventure over a coffee. ☕

Crumble Cottage sleeps up to seven guests across four practical bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 & 2: Light and airy Double rooms.
Bedroom 3: A comfortable Single room.

The Bathroom: A practical ground-floor shower room with WC and washbasin—easy access for everyone.
🐾 Reactive Dog Guide
Crumble Cottage is a 3-Star Reactive Friendly property.
Farm Life: We are a working farm with livestock and our own dogs (kept separate). For this reason, the cottage is not suitable for animal-reactive dogs. 🐑
Garden Security: The garden is secure for lead-free dogs of course, but we ask that dogs are on leads when leaving the garden to head out for walks.
Quiet Spots: You’ll find two beautiful, quiet forest walks within 2 miles of the cottage.
🦴 For Your Pack & Hoomans
For Dogs: We provide bowls, a dog wash room, and a stairgate (as bedrooms are dog-free). Dogs are welcome on sofas with your own throws! 🛋️
For Humans: Free Wi-Fi, central heating, towels, linen, and access to wellness facilities.
Arrival: Check-in is flexible (usually Saturday) and Colleen and Griz will be there to show you the ropes!

How do I book a massage? 💆♀️ Just let us know! We recommend booking Colleen’s Relaxation Studio in advance to ensure you get your preferred time.
Can I really bring 5 dogs for free? 🐕 Yes! We love seeing a full pack enjoying the Welsh countryside.
Is there a place to wash muddy dogs? 🧼 Yes, we have a dedicated dog wash and drying room to make sure the "Welsh weather" stays outside!
Pet Information
Dogs are welcome on sofas if you bring your own throws and may be left alone if safely crated
Dogs may access the ground floor, but not the upstairs carpeted bedrooms (a stair gate is fitted)
Leads are unnecessary in the enclosed garden

Had a lovely stay at Crumble Cottage. Two adults, 2 children and 5 dogs. The cottage is well equipped and warm also very spacious. We visited Aberystwyth, loved it so much. The Prom, the Pier (arcade) was a big hit and also the Cliff Railway was a highlight of our stay, beautiful views and food very good in the restaurant at the top, the Coffee Hut opposite the castle is great, very recommended. We visited Devils Bridge today and did both walks both stunning and worth the trek, lots of steps approx 700 and Jacobs Ladder which is very steep and quite scary but the views and waterfalls are just magnificent. We went to watch the red kites feeding but missed it as they had changed to winter time. So 2pm in the winter and 3pm in summer months. Still saw approx 10 red kites so not disappointed. The Butterly Place was the favourite. Its a bit pricey but worth it (£36 for two adults and 2 children) but was our favourite part of the stay, so very worth it. See you at Christmas

We have had the most wonderful week! Amazing hosts, Colleen and Griz. Massage amazing, we have come with our 3 dogs, Diesel, Cooper and Bella, gone sightseeing, Newport beach is our favourite place, been to villages seeing all sorts of things. Shire Horse Farm, Iron Age village – amazing! Booked again for next year, and we want to book again for 2027! We love the cottage, our dogs loved it, fantastic week! Colleen and Griz are wonderful hosts, as are the dogs and cats. They are happy to help with any problems and the cats enjoy the fusses. The views are spectacular for artists and any historian will love the castles in the area.

Lovely breakfast hamper for a bumper feast,,,,very comfy and characterful cottage. Many fun games of badminton, enjoying the views , clean air and evening bats.
So many great beaches, water lovely and warm and not too deep for the kids
Lovely drive into the hills to enjoy the scenery. Devils Bridge is very impressive but lots of other places without the crowds. Very quiet area generally with a few hot spots
It was really good to meet the cows and the pigs who are gorgeously ugly 🙂
Colleens massages were a real break and highly recommended

We have stayed in this wonderful cottage many times before and every time we are welcomed with a huge smile by Colleen and Griz. The welcome pack in the fridge was fabulous and thank you for adding some gluten free treats for Emily. We always love being shown around the farm, seeing the tractors.
We love exploring and our favourite day out is New Quay! (We love fish and chips at the Lime Crab)

what a fabulous time we had at Crumble Cottage. Colleen and Griz are both really lovely, and made us and the dogs feel very welcome. The courtyard and garden was perfect for the dogs, with no concerns about whether they’d be able to escape (we have three working cocker spaniels who will find a hole if it’s there!). Whilst our dogs would usually chase cats, the farm felines stood their ground and our three learnt to ignore them!
It really was the perfect base for our Welsh adventure. Although there are seasonal restrictions on some of the beaches, we managed to find several places where we were able to let the dogs have a great run and swim. We also found a couple of lovely inland places to have adventures, our favourite was the Hafod Estate, a National Trust owned estate which covers spectacular landscapes through woodlands and along a river, dogs had to be kept on leads in the meadows where the sheep were but, for the most part, they were able to have a good run around.

We have just returned from a Wonderful visit to Wales a first for my sister Shereleagh. Crumble Cottage hosts Colleen and Griz were in our estimation the perfect hosts. On hand for friendly chats about where to go and what to see to Colleen’s wonderful massage session. (Please try one ) The Cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need especially the kitchen with its quality kitchenware. The garden and its views are great with outdoor seating and extra outside chairs available. Everything is in tip top condition and we loved meeting Lily, Buddy their dogs and some of the cottage cats.
Personally we found the whole experience of a week in Wales following Colleen’s advice on some places to visit (Elan Village and Reservoir/dam ) definitely one worth a visit, very useful. All in all we give the Cottage and hosts a 5 star ⭐ rating. We will be back for sure.👍🏼

What a fantastic find Crumble Cottage has turned out to be. Cosy, clean and very well equipped.
The dogs loved the large, secure garden and the dog washing room, complete with bath and towels ,is the absolute icing on the cake after a day’s walking in muddy woods, or sandy beaches. Plenty of both close by! Our favourite walk was Ynyslas.
Collen and Griz are superb hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble, and even though they live on site, our privacy was never compromised.

Griz & Colleen were so welcoming, cottage is very well cared for, Comfortable and clean.
We had such a great holiday, seeing red kites being fed at Goginan, the beautiful Sandy beach at Ynyslas, the butterfly house, sea fishing trip just to name a few! Weather was lovely apart from one day.
Lovely to stay on the farm, meet the calves, pigs and really made it special.
