Start your walk parking at Potter Heigham – Lathams car park is big and allows parking for 3 hours (and is free) or you can use the Herbert Woods car park which is also large and free for 3 hours

Head over Potter Heigham Bridge and take a right and walk along the river bank which is very a grassy path. You can let your dogs off lead
Carry on till you come to Repps with Bastwick and keep going along the path along the back of the riverside bungalows
Head through a gate and carry on along the side of the river. It is very picturesque and you might be lucky and spot herons flying by or Marsh Harriers
Carry on to Thurne mill which is a beautiful area to sit and take in the views
Turn down past the Mill and towards Thurne where you will find a toilets, a small shop and a dog friendly pub serving homemade food (The Lion)










Cross the road and head through the farm, following the public footpath signs
Keep on the track and pass a camp site to your left and bungalow on your right
Stay on the track and pass the memory meadow, and turn left here keeping on the track
Towards the end of the track veer right across the footpath which takes you across a field
Cross here and throughout a narrow path beside a bungalow and field keep going. You will come to a path with some woods here you turn right and keep going as far as you can and carry on round past a little footbridge
It is very peaceful and pretty through these woods at this time of year with Rhododendrons in bloom
Keep going until you come out onto the fields and carry on straight up to the Old Bench then take the public footpath across the farmers field and then a left at the road
This is a quiet road country lane : follow it until you come back to Repps with Bastwick river and then back onto the riverbank, taking a right and you will follow this back to your starting point at Potter Heigham
This walk is great for reactive dogs as you don’t meet many passers, the walk is main all off lead apart from some small areas along the country lanes and back at Potter Heigham you have Bridgestones which has a dog friendly area, toilets, gift shops and a pub
The whole walk is around 7 miles circular with mainly grass paths.
