As a dedicated ‘Pack Holidayer’ myself and ensuring I test out all our gorgeous cottages, I took myself off for a break away at gorgeous

What can I say! has everything you would need for a dog welcoming cottage.
On arrival I found a wonderful welcome pack of goodies, plus tea, coffee and sugar. A starter pack of logs, kindling and matches was all ready and waiting for us

For the dogs, we had doggy towels, all rolled up nicely, hooks on the wall in the dining area for doggy leads, a secure garden (fabulous!) and throws for the furniture (perfect!)

The local dog friendly pub, The Star Inn, is literally a 3 second walk across the road!! Friendly staff, no nonsense and lovely food and just the perfect place to relax before going back to for a quiet night in
There are a plethora of outdoor activities, delightful other local pubs and restaurants, and a warm welcome for your dogs.

Luxurious Comfort

has absolutely beautifully designed interiors combining modern elegance with a touch of rustic charm, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted with spacious rooms, plush furnishings, and thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home.
The cottage boasts a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to whip up delicious meals using the finest local produce. The bedrooms provide the perfect sanctuary for a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring. The bathrooms are immaculate and feature modern fixtures.

My favourites in ? I LOVED the huge dining area, quirky fridge freezer (and separate freezer space too!), the beautiful work surfaces in the kitchen and a range oven to die for! Just amazing. The dishwasher and washing machine are separately set in the utility room meaning there is lots of space in the kitchen and dining area.

The living room was so comfortable, and our lovely owner Nicky has lots of games / books and local guides to help you while away a few hours browsing and having fun.
I loved the old style radiators, which fit so nicely into it being a period property., giving you a spa-like experience.

If you don’t want to go upstairs to bed, there is a very comfortable and spacious bedroom downstairs with plenty of storage, and a beautiful feature fireplace.
Upstairs, the bathroom is just stunning with a feature free standing bath, and a separate shower if you prefer that. All beds come with throws and luxury linen. What an absolute treat it was!

Outdoor Adventures

Adjacent to the picturesque Peak District National Park, is a gateway to an abundance of outdoor experiences. Whether you enjoy gentle walks along scenic trails or adrenaline-pumping adventures, Tideswell has it all. Lace up your boots and hike along the famous Limestone Way, meandering through stunning valleys and rugged landscapes.

For the more adventurous souls, the Peak District offers activities such as cycling, horseback riding, and rock climbing. The scenic beauty of the area will leave you awe-inspired, and there’s no better base than to embark on your outdoor escapades.

For dog walkers, well there are endless places to go. Search out the community meadow and orchard where you can read information about the trees that have been planted for people.
And do explore the village! It is quaint, welcoming and absolutely beautiful. We found a lovely coffee (and breakfast) shop just a minutes walk away, the local Co-Op (which has abundance of everything you need) and a lovely welcoming chemist.

Local Pubs and Restaurants

After a day of exploring, indulge in the culinary delights that Tideswell has to offer. The village boasts an array of charming pubs and restaurants. Don’t just try one, try them all and each offering a unique dining experience. Whether you crave traditional English fare, international cuisine, or Michelin-starred delicacies, Tideswell has options to satisfy all taste buds.

A Haven for Your Four-Legged Friends

With two dogs (who I take everywhere) I really couldn’t have felt more welcome, both at but in the village and surrounding areas. There were lots of dog friendly walks, establishments (the coffee shop had lots of visiting furry chums when I was there) and the pubs ever so dog friendly too

itself offers a secure garden where your dog can roam and play freely. With an array of pet-friendly amenities, including dog beds and bowls, my dogs were treated like royalty throughout my stay.

I absolutely cannot wait to go back to (and I will!) It had everything I could wish for (and more!) and my dogs (who can be timid and shy) fitted straight into this wonderful cottage owned by the most wonderful owner Nicky. If you have any questions at all about or Tideswell, do shout! You know I have tried and tested it and given it the biggest ‘paws up’ that I can!!
