3 Star Reactive Dog Friendly

3 Star Reactive Dog Rated

Chapel Barn is situated in a quiet area of this bustling traditional seaside town. It has a very secure but small courtyard with 9 feet walls all around and is not overlooked directly (though there is a block of flats on the right hand side). There is little to detract a reactive dog however, dogs will hear some noise from the town itself and possibly traffic (though it is generally quiet). There is a quiet 20 second walk to the beach area but again there will be passers by and other dogs around given the population and size of the town.

Chapel Barn, Sheringham

Chapel Barn, Westcliff, Sheringham, Norfolk NR26 8JT
(22 customer reviews)

This stunning dog friendly cottage in Sheringham, full of lovely features and nooks and crannies, originally housed the horses who hauled in the boats from the bay and latterly (due to its wonderful high ceilings) was an art gallery.

Chapel Barn has been tastefully and honestly converted into a gorgeous hideaway suitable for up to 4 people. There is a glorious sea view from the kitchen, and because there is only a single walkway at the front of the cottage, there’s extremely little footfall passing the cottage (usually only the neighbours). It is ideal if you’re looking for Sheringham dog friendly cottages just a stone’s throw away from the sea and in the heart of the bustling town, but it has the most fabulous advantage of it being as quiet as possible.

From a lovely summer week, to having an autumn or winter mid-week or weekend break, Chapel Barn is ideal for recharging those batteries, and ideally placed for exploring our gorgeous coast, Broads and countryside.

If you fancy just dumping the car, you can easily amuse yourselves all week with lovely long walks along the coast, visiting the many cafes, restaurants and bars in the town, testing out the fish and chip shops and perusing around the lovely independent shops. Or how about trying out the fabulous North Norfolk Railway? Well worth a visit.

This pet friendly cottage, Sheringham with access to the amazing coastal path has so much to offer, from dog friendly pubs, ice cream shops and fabulous fish and chips to lovely restaurants, eclectic shops and so much more.

  1. Helen and family

Gorgeous walk from above Beeston down to the coast path – heather, rowan, bracken, beaches, blue skies and sea. Actually started at Felbrigg then caught the train to Roughton Road, picked up Weavers Way and enjoyed a look around the house and gardens – the whole walk was very pleasant but the last bit was spectacular

A lovely week at Chapel Barn. It went too quickly. An absolutely perfect location in the centre of all that Sheringham has to offer, yet so quiet and peaceful. Looking forward to our next stay. THANK YOU! xxx

  3. Dawn

Hi to you all, thank you Clare for a beautifully clean barn. Much appreciated
Gail thank you for all your help in booking our holidays for May, October and December
Love Sheringham, will miss seeing the sea every morning whilst having my cuppa and tablets xxx

  4. Lee, Pauline and Gerry and the boys

Had a lovely stay in your nice cosy cottage
Couldnt be in a better position so close to the shops and beach
The little courtyard is nice and private.
A stable door in the kitchen to see the sea views but keep dogs safe by keeping the bottom half locked (only an idea we had whilst sitting in the kitchen)
Thank you so much for the gifts on arrival

  6. Joyce, Alan and Mia

We enjoyed our stay at Chapel Barn, the cottage was clean tidy and very spacious. The situation is perfect with easy access to town and beach. Lots of dog friendly places. Hope to visit again.

  7. Sue, Richard and the boys

We had an ab fab time here at Chapel Barn, a god send of a cottage in an ideal location for the beach, town and bus service and shopping. Very dog friendly, lots of space, clean, tidy, the welcome pack of cookies, crisps and dog treats was very thoughtful, as were the dog tags. More places should provide them I think. We visited old places and new places not been to before such as the villages of Holt, the lovely walk to West Runton and back by train. Our meal out at the Two Life Boats and The Robin Hood. both places we would recommend to people if staying here.
Thank you for the memories we have made here and we would love to stay here again, maybe for a bit longer than a week next time!

  8. Ted and Chris

Hi, we have had a lovely stay. Very comfy. Nothing too much trouble for Gail. It seems like we have known her for a long time! Hopefully see you again next year. Just what we needed. The Lotus Chinese was good!

  9. Jan

Lovely and peaceful stay as before. Sheringham such a pleasant location – all you need in one place

  10. Dennis and Sally

Super accommodation – all we needed is here. Great place for exploring Sheringham. Pretty Corner worth a visit – part owned by the Woodland Trust – great walks through the woods with our dog, Ted. Nice bit of am-dram at The Little Theatre in the town and excellent fish and chips at the Sheringham Trawler. All in all a great place to recharge our batteries. Thank you Pack Holidays!

Another wonderful week away in Chapel Barn. Thoroughly recommend local butchers, good mooch around the charity shops and of course, ice cream and fish and chips! Excellent pub quiz on Thursday at The Robin Hood pub also so wonderful to wake up and hear the sea every morning and see it from the bedroom window. We will be back again soon! Much love to Gail and all at Pack Holidays xxx

  12. Sarah and Alex and Willow

Fabulous four night Christmas stay. Great accommodation and spotlessly clean. Did lots of coastal walks with Willow the Norfolk Terrier which she loved. Thank you so much, I will definitely recommend and hopefully return

  13. Anna, Graham, Rex and Toby and Freddie

What’s not to love at Chapel Barn. Newly renovated, spotlessly clean and bright and spacious. We loved every moment. Sitting in the bedroom or kitchen and watching the sea is an extra bonus., Its perfectly located in the heart of Sheringham, just a short walk from everything we needed to do during our stay, It was amazing how quiet and peaceful it was despite it’s proximity to the beach and the high street. Absolutely perfect for the dogs. We’ve added some records and a jigsaw puzzle to the collection and have enjoyed many games of scrabble. We recommend food from Fat Ted’s and it is essential to try every Ronaldo’s ice cream flavour

We have had a brilliant time. Chapel Barn has been perfect for us and our dogs. We have especially enjoyed sitting out in the sunny courtyard for every meal and looking at the view from the windows.

  15. Kate and J.P. Dave and Bess

What a find! Such a peaceful bolthole in the very heart of Sheringham. Lovely runs to Cromer and Sheringham Park from the door. Beautiful sunsets on the beach. Love the record player! Fish and chips from Straits, lunch from Fat Teds and Cha-You Thai takeaway all delicious. Found this gorgeous house extremely dog friendly, and the kitchen is well equipped for all our needs. First trip to Norfolk, won’t be our last!
    Thank you.

  17. Larissa, Rich and Lilah

Fabulous little cottage in a great spot. We had a super week. Lilah the dog also gives it 10/10

  18. Violet, Tulip and Pixie

Lovely accommodation, beautifully situated. Our dogs have really enjoyed their first holiday to Sheringham and are demanding they come back very soon.

We feel sad to leave because the location and the house is so lovely and comfortable.

PS we dogs loved the biscuits and the holiday dog tags are a great idea

  19. Daisy, George and Jim

Loved our stay at Chapel Barn. Bright, airy and super comfortable, amazing shower and bright little courtyard for BBQs. 45 mins over the cliff to our favourite Rocky Bottoms, 30 seconds to Fat Teds Streat Food for lunch! Best coffee in town after an extensive search
Harris and James (great ice cream too!) Jim, our cavapoochon had the time of his life splashing in the sea on the way to Weybourne and we made it even further over to The Dun Cow for gorgeous food and wine.
Another wonderful trip with Pack Holidays

  20. Samantha

What a find, a lovely place to stay. Close to the seafront and close to the high street, however, this did not impact the noise levels it was so quiet. Very attentive towards dogs and the whole place was just well presented and clean. I recommend the Norfolk lavendar icecream and the local fish stall. Also a lovely little market on Wednesdays and Fridays. Will certainly return next year.

  21. Jane

An excellent property in a great location. We were all well cared for – thanks for the Holman and doggie biscuits!
