2 Star⭐⭐

The Beach Hut is situated in Cabbell Road in Cromer, which, whilst very near to the centre of the town, is to the rear of a residential road and opposite other houses and a car park.   The neighbourhood is quietly residential but can have a fair number of passers by during peak season.

The courtyard garden (no grass) has 8-9 feet fencing all the way around and has only very small gaps between them.  The courtyard is accessible directly from the kitchen door and once the courtyard gate is closed (and can be locked) it is totally secure.   There is a right of way passage through the courtyard, but it has not been used in 3 years.

As the cottage is in town, there are no risks of bird scarers and the coastal path does not run alongside the cottage.  The courtyard does have flats to the rear which can see into the courtyard but only at a certain height.

Parking is at the front of the property with access directly through the courtyard gate  The parking area is not fenced so please be aware of this.

There are nice quiet walks around the locality leading from the town.  Please be aware there may be others using it too.

The Beach Hut, Cromer

What a fabulous find!

Being just on the edge of town, has meant that I could get my mobility scooter straight out of the car and in under 5 minutes be enjoying the delights on offer.

If you want “cheap & cheerful” food, then Cromer Pizza & Kebab seems to be open every day with a decent selection of fast food.

If you definitely do not want fast food, then get down to Hot Rocks – as my wife put it “Simply the best seafood she has tasted” (and that’s after living around Italy / Med for 2 years – a high accolade indeed!  Furthermore it’s not too expensive either.

One thing that we did find to be a little cost prohibitive was “The Poppy Line” the steam train that goes from Sheringham to Holt.  For us to have gone on with the dogs, would have been £50 ish for just 20 minutes each way.  However sitting on the platform with a brew cost absolutely nothing and gives you the opportunity to see them being worked, coupled and uncoupled etc.  A decent donation given as we availed ourselves of the possibility.

The Beach Hut itself (other than being superbly placed) has all the facilities one could want.  Indeed the bath was so lovely I was fast asleep in it for a few hours- and still warm (although the wonderful weather we had did help here 🙂

The TV can be a little “temperamental” but who wants to stay inside watching it when you’ve got such a wonderful location and town to potter around?  If the TV turned itself off, it’s for a reason – get to bed, or get out and enjoy the area.

Thanks so much for having the Hut, it’s been the complete recharge we’ve needed, although we will have to fight the temptation to turn straight back around and come straight back)

We’re already planning our return!

The Beach Hut was again the perfect base to stay, and even better this time as we came a little earlier so the beach was still dog friendly.

I particularly like the cliff path walk to East Runton where a beer in the lovely garden at the Fishing Boat  or a bite to eat at Sammy’s Bar (where the staff are absolutely lovely) is a welcome pit stop, before a stroll back to Cromer via the beach.

We were very lucky with the weather which is a always a bonus!

The cottage was spotlessly clean as always and I love the attention to detail, thank you for the welcome pack!

Thank you for another lovely stay.

Beautiful cottage!  Very well equipped and was very home from home.  Amazing central location both in Cromer and also for local beaches.

Would highly recommend visits to :

– Great Yarmouth

– Wells-next-the-sea (especially to see the seals)

– Holt Country Park

Great advantage having a parking space at the property.

Excellent communication prior to arrival and the welcome cakes were a lovely touch.

Would definitely book again.

We have had a lovely stay over Xmas.  Weather was wet and cold, but we had a couple of reasonable days – for bad for Dec on the coast!  We walked along the font and up into Warren woods and went to Felbrigg for woodland walks a couple of times.

This is such a nice convenient location.  The cottage is snug and the big screen TV has been great on wet days.  So nice that it is so dog friendly.  Thank you so much for adding rugs so that our old-ish dog didn’t slip on the floors!

We’ve loved our week at ‘The Beach Hut’, beautiful decor, spotlessly clean and in perfect location.

We’ve had nice days out at Holt & Sheringham (where we had what we thought our best fish and chips of the holiday at Dave’s fish bar).  Our best recommendation is the ‘White Horse’ here in Cromer.  We had a delicious Sunday roast with proper, homemade Yorkshire puds.

Thank you for the welcome pack, this is our 3rd stay in a ‘Pack Holidays’ accommodation, we think the standard really great.

Wow!  We have thoroughly enjoyed staying at ‘The Beach Hut’.  The accommodation was perfect, so well thought out and super  clean.  We felt immediately relaxed and appreciated all the oil diffusers and beautiful interior.  The location was perfect for us;  so near to everything but lovely and peaceful at the same time.

Food recommendations:  Buttercups (Best Scones EVER), Hatters, Red Lion and Golden Fleece at Wells.

We will definitely be back as ‘The Beach Hut’ was perfect.

Thank you.

Brilliant location only a short stroll to the middle of Cromer for shops, pubs, cafes, pier etc.   Fabulous to have a parking space.  The house is really well equipped and we felt safe with all the Covid-19 protocols.   Smashing weather and great walk along the coast at Sheringham NT property.   The Red Lion was our favourite pub, but the White Horse is nearby and had a fantastic lasagne there on our first night.

Dogs loved the beaches and we loved Holkham (though gets busy)

All success for the rest of the season and beyond.  Huge thanks

What a gorgeous well-kept, well-thought out cottage.   We appreciated the little details like the torches and dog towels, and the big touches like the roll-top bath and comfy beds.

Best walks – we loved along the beach to West Runton with lunch at Rocky Bottoms (amazing lobster!!) and found some lovely walks along Wells too.  Would recommend the Wells Crab House for lunch.
Weather has been beautiful here and our stay, perfect for some R&R.  We will be back!!

We have had a fantastic time in North Norfolk and The Beach Hut has been the perfect base.  We got a lovely welcome from Lucy and the apartment has had all we needed.   The kids (4 and 2) especially loved crabbing on the pier. Blickling Hall, a seal trip with Beans and lots of beach time.  Our favourite beach was Winterton on Sea where we built sandcastles, swam, played hide and seek in the dunes, ate crab sandwiches in the cafe and saw seals swimming in the sea..  Other favourites for lunch have been The Gunton Arms, Wiveton Hall CafeRocky Bottoms and The Tipsy Vegan in Norwich.

What a wonderful stay! We were very impressed by the attention to every detail and it made it a really 5 * experience. We loved the book full of recommendations and all the other little perks. A big well done for all the work put into it!!

During our stay we went to Beans Seals Trips in Blakeney Point with Argo and Gustavito who had great fun. We also visited Sheringham and took the steam railway. One of our favourites in Cromer has been the beautiful circular walk; we continued up to the lighthouse before heading back and it was worth it!! Some spectacular views at sunset.

We will be recommending you and The Beach Hut!!!

A big thank you to Gail, Lucy and Robert for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. So much attention to detail including the wonderful welcoming strawberries.

Finding somewhere to take 3 dogs is challenging and to find somewhere as fantastic as The Beach Hut is a real treat.

Suzy, Henley and Toby have had a wonderful time and we’ll be very sad to leave. Fantastic beach and so many dog friendly cafes and shops as well as the yummy cakes from Hatters. We have lost count of how many shops have offered the pooches cuddles and treats. Can’t wait to come back again!
