It is famous for its miles and miles (and miles) of sandy , glorious beaches and dunes, which are all wonderfully dog friendly. Reactive Friendly Award Details
2 Star⭐⭐
Snowdrop Cottage is a 2 star Reactive Friendly Pack Holidays cottage. Here are the reasons why, but also more importantly, what aspects of the cottage may not be suitable for your reactive.
Snowdrop is situated in a slightly quieter area of Winterton village (and not directly in the centre of the village). It is in a residential street so there is more activity than in a very rural location,
The garden is secure with 5-6 feet high fencing on either side of the garden (there are neighbours on both sides. There is a 4 feet gate to enter the garden directly, rather than going through the house to enter the garden and as this gate is not solid, there is a plastic board to place in front of the gate should you wish. There are no passers-by at this gate as it leads to an alleyway used by Snowdrop and the neighbouring property for access (and bin storage).
The garden is accessed via the conservatory patio doors and dogs can be seen clealy/supervised from the conservatory and living room.
Whilst there are neighbours on either side, the height of the fencing at Snowdrop means that being overlooked is limited and people could only be seen if they chose to pop a head ‘over the fence’.
It is a 5 min walk out of Chapel Road and to the right to access the dunes. This is by far the quietest way to access the beach, but you can choose to go via the centre of the village if you choose.
As it is in the village we have had no reports of bird scarers being heard in the village, but as there are other residents locally you may hear other residents dogs barking on occasion.
Parking is on street at the front of the property with access directly through the cottage courtyard gate and to the front door. The parking area is open so please be aware of this when exiting the car with dogs. The dogs are secure as soon as the courtyard gate is closed.

Thank you for a lovely few days at Snowdrop in Winterton. A nice secure garden, thows for the sofas, bowls, treats, towels. Really do make for a lovely dog friendly holiday!! I am sure we will be back!
Lovely cottage, clean, tidy & very dog friendly (blankets, towels, bowls, crate (if needed) poop bags). Close to dunes, acces via end of road or down the alley. Comfortable bed & pillows, slept well.
Places of interest, Horsey Gap – for lovers of seals. They swim close to shore!” You can also see the odd one on winterton beach too. We visited the wind pump and walked the river at Horsey too!
Fishermans Return pub, friendly , food good, dogs allowed. Doing a good job under Covid regulations. Went to Wroxham and the Barns, Hemsby 😞, brief visit to Ludham (very busy), very nice.
Will recommend and probably return again
Thank you
A weekend at Snowdrop Cottage, our first visit, but will definitely be back. Lovely cottage in a quiet area, very dog friendly garden, easy walk to the beach.

Another fantastic week at snowdrop!! This time I brought my BFF and her 2 chihuahuas along with my 3 chinese cresteds.
We’ve had an amazing week exploring the coast from Gorleston to Happisburgh and new converts to the beautiful Norfolk coastline.
I have booked for next year and I’m sure my BFF intends to do the same!
Hi there. Thank you – we have had a wonderful time and the cottage has been just perfect for us and the dogs. Having a secure garden has made it really relaxing for us!! We’ve loved the beach walks and coastal paths and even saw seals! We will defintely return! Thank you!!!

We’ve had dinner at the Fishermans Return most nights, excellent, good value food + dogs very welcome – even our 3 mad springers!! The cafe is great too for coffee after a walk + a very indulgent cake!
