2 Star ⭐⭐
Coastguard is situated next to the entrance to Sea Palling beach. People do walk down Beach Road to the beach entrance (with dogs) but the risk of your dog seeing people and dogs is mitigated to a large degree by having a wall in front of the house which means looking out of the living room window might not elicit a huge reaction 😉
The garden is to the rear of the property and is very secure with solid fencing. The area is grassed and whilst there is a garden on the left hand side of the fence, it can’t be seen and same can be said on the right hand side. There is a house on the right hand side of the rear garden but the risk of being overlooked is reduced by having the fencing and the outhouse at the back of Coastguard Cottage.
There are some quieter walks nearby – choosing to walk down Clink Lane and towards Eccles is a much less travelled route than the beach during peak times. Out of season the traffic on the beach is very much reduced so much less risk of ”

Beautiful cottage, perfect setting for beach trips and walks. Love the ‘map’ walls – home decorating on the agenda now! Fabulous weather and a fabulous relaxing week for all, especially the 4 legged gang Mr Tiggs and Murphy and the seals further down the coast was the icing on the cake. Cottage very well equipped. Really dont want to leave. Thank you to all involved in making it a lovely holiday
This is our second visit and already booked for next year. We love this cottage – It has everything we need and is a true Norfolk hidden gem. (Lucy aged 9 and its my first time and I love it and I made friends and loved the seals. Can’t wait to come back next year)
We have had a great time, the weather has been very kind to us. Eating outside, sunny walks on the beach – Perfect! The house is lovely and well-equipped. Having such a sunny outdoor space has been marvellous too! Thank you x
A very comfy & cosy cottage in a perfect location. We’ve enjoyed our 4 night break here despite the bad weather. Great to be able to walk straight to the beach and dunes from the house. The dogs, Jazz & Pixie had a wonderful time too – lots of new sniffs for them and some very comfy sofas at the end of an exhausting day. Due to a lot of places still being closed we’ve had most of our meals at the Greyhound at Hickling – thoroughly recommend – and excellent breakfast at the Dunes Cafe, Waxham.
