The Dairy, Marshgate, North Walsham, Norfolk
❤️💕 NEXT AVAILABLE BREAK 28th SEPTEMBER to 4th OCTOBER!! ❤️💕
The Dairy is a lovely conversion of a former Dairy and is one of three holiday cottages within Marshgate House (the others are The Coach House and The Stables). It is situated in a very quiet location, just 10 minutes walk from the centre of the bustling market town of North Walsham where many dog friendly cafe and pubs can be found. There is a lovely little field walk accessed from right outside the door. Witton Woods is accessible from the Dairy on foot and our wonderful beaches are just a 10 minute drive. The quieter beaches are very dog friendly. The Norfolk Broads are a short 10 minute drive away and there are a number of boat hire companies who welcome dogs on boats. Simon and Felicity, the owners, are hugely welcoming, and Simon is a renowned expert in tall bearded irises, so if youhave an interest in them, please do ask him about it!
On arrival, there is room for two cars in the enclosed courtyard of The Dairy which is accessed via a shared courtyard. Once the gate and external gates are closed, the area is secure for dogs. Please note that access into the courtyard is via large 9 foot gates which will require you to turn a handle and push open. Please do get in touch if you have any queries about this as they may be a little heavy for some people.
This is a most attractive suntrap and is decorated with beautiful pot plants. A external table and chairs are available for alfresco dining.
Is accessed via patio doors. There is plenty of comfortable seating, a TV, occasional tables with lots of lighting and wooden floors throughout the property. To your right is the…

We firmly believe that you know your dogs best. If you wish to go out for a meal for an hour we are more than happy for you to leave your dog in the cottage, as long as you are sure they will not be distressed, and won’t bark continuously as we do have two other cottages with guests in the vicinity.
If you would like a delivery of dog food to the house while you are here, rather than bringing it with you, this Sams Pets is a great place to contact. Pack Holidays guests have an exclusive 10% off anything in their shop in Market Place in North Walsham! Take a peek at their Facebook page too!
Address: The Dairy, Marshgate House, Marshgate Lane, North Walsham, Norfolk, NR28 9EF
From the A1151 from Norwich, turn left onto the A149 signposted to Cromer and North Walsham. Follow this road for 5 miles until you arrive at North Walsham. At the first set of traffic lights, turn right to go into North Walsham town. At the roundabout, take the second exit, (with Paston College on your left). At the next roundabout take the first exit (Roys on your left and Lidls on your right). Follow the road past the Post Office and Library (New Road) and at the next bend in the road, take the left turn into Pound Road. Follow this road going straight on at the crossroads (Manor Road school on your right hand side). After the crossroads, the road turns into Marshgate. Go over several speed bumps and after the road bends to the right, there is a right hand turn with a white cottage at teh corner. Take this right hand turn (which is still Marshgate). The Dairy is accessed through the very large black gates on the right hand side of the road attached to the black fronted Norfolk brick building. The gate is large and requires a handle to be turned to open, then the gate pushed to access the courtyard. If you have any concerns questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us
Loved our time here, lovely accommodation, especially the personal touches of the dog treats and human treats, you have thought of everything especially liked the dog tags, brilliant idea, excellent security for our dog as being a greyhound can move very fast. Could not fault the Dairy in any way, and thank you Gail for being so kind and helpful. We will be back. We will recommend Pack Holidays to friends.

We have had a lovely two nights celebrating out wedding anniversary. Simon gave us some great advice on places to go and walks for Albie our dog. We walked from the cottage down to the woods, it was lovely and Albie really enjoyed it. We had a great visit to Horse, and we went on the wildlife boat tour. The beaches around the coast, Happisburgh to winterton are lovely and everywhere is so dog friendly.
Thank you Simon and Gail (pack hols)
Ian, Nicky and Albie (June 2018), The Dairy, Marshgate, Norfolk
The Dairy is just perfect for two plus the ‘pack’. All needs are catered for and all the extra little touches really make the difference. We have stopped in places which are ‘dog friendly’ and really are not, or are awful so they let dogs stay.
These properties are far from that! They are extremely clean and tidy and luxurious whilst still allowing your best friends to stay with you.
The Banningham Crown is a really lovely place to eat – Hotel standards and dog friendly! Massive portions too and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Michelle and Jeff, The Dairy, Marshgate, Norfolk
Our second stay here – and just as good as the first! The fact that we would have a fabulous stay was never in doubt. We love visiting the Dairy – it is perfect for a retreat getaway. We even noticed a few extra details such as some new dog tags which were a wonderful little touch and shows continuous improvements to make the guests enjoy their stay even more! Thank you Simon and Pack Holidays we have loved being here – we don’t want to go home! See you guys later in the year!

P.S. we had a lovely meal at the Star Inn in Lessingham, very dog friendly and great prices too, along with great service!

Took us a while to find in the dark with 7 dogs but once we did…. Well what can we say! Absolutely beautiful and clean, ideal size, very welcoming, with a wonderful welcome pack. Dogs all secure in the courtyard, lovely and warm, it was the perfect cosy getaway that we wanted. Will certainly be recommending and returning again! Thank you so much.

We had a lovely week drinking Pimms in the countryside (me not the dogs). We visited Cromer and enjoyed dog walking in Bacton as well as Waxham. Both of the beaches have their own charm – bacton with its gas works (industrial meets coastal) and Waxham with its boulders, they’re both truly wonderful.
Mary and Junia, The Dairy, Marshgate, Norfolk

We went to Crincle Gap to see the seals, beach walks at Cart Gap and Happisburgh, Sheringham Park, Bacton Woods, Waxham and Sea Palling. This is our third trip to this area this year. Revisited some of our favourite haunts and found some new ones. September in the sun, seeing seals, sunbathing at Horsey, fish and chips from Walcott and Nelsons Head at Horsey for a refreshing pint. Thank you Simon and Felicity for alllowing us to be first guests in The Dairy. We have been blessed with lovely hot September sun and able to keep the patio doors open until late. The weather was fabulous! 30 degrees plus! Best holiday weather in the UK so far. We did beaches, beaches and more beaches! Happisburgh and Cart Gap followed by amazing food at The Star in Lessingham, plus The Lighthouse. We loved the Dairy, clean and modern. Loved the space and the enclosed courtyard and parking. Close to lots of places/beaches/parks. Sheringham Park was great when really hot. We went on the Bure Valley miniature steam railway from Aylsham to Wroxham where we had lovely fish and chips watching the boats go by on the Broads. Great holiday in a great place. Thank you Simon and Felicity and a special thanks from the dogs for their love;y muffins!
