Project Description

Gorgeous Sea View is new for July 2020.  Uninterrupted sea views from every room.  Open up that gate and straight onto the fabulous coastal path!

Cottage Description

Sea View is a large and beautiful Victorian house, situated on the main road and directly on to the beach in the lovely little seaside village of Walcott.  Simply open up that garden gate and you are RIGHT ONTO that amazing beach.  Uninterrupted views of the beach, the sea and that endless sky from the garden and the house.  Because it faces onto the coastal path, there will be walkers waking past the fence.

Walcott is midway between bustling Cromer town and sleepy fishing village of Winterton on Sea.  The house is just the most fabulous place to spend time in, with lots of natural light, whiling away the hours on a gorgeous sandy beach, and an ideal base to explore all the gems that Norfolk has to offer.

In the village, you will find a dog friendly pub, dog friendly cafe (fabulous ice-creams!), a really lovely fish and chip shop and a local shop all just a few minutes walk away.  Bacton, the next village (just a 15 min walk away) has a lovely dog groomer (handy…just in case 😉 ) and a fabulous dog friendly cafe (gorgeous cakes).

Walcott beach is very dog friendly with only a small restrictioned area between May and September along the ‘front’ but you can walk 65m to the unrestricted beach from the back garden on the concrete pathway above, or on the pavement to reach the end of the restriction.   The coastal path is open from Hunstanton to Hopton On Sea (but 83 miles is a bit far to walk 😉 ) so you have unfettered access north towards Mundesley, or south towards Sea Palling and Winterton.

If you want to explore other beaches, head to Waxham, Cart Gap and Happisburgh.  Even outwith pupping season, you will still spot a seal or two (and they sometimes have great fun following your coastal walk whilst they keep up in the water.  It is a short drive to Mundesley and Cromer (via the gorgeous coastal route) or Horsey, then Winterton on Sea the opposite way.

Stalham town (3 miles away) has some lovely local shops, supermarket (Tesco) and we have lovely local individual shops dotted around our lovely coastal villages (The Fair Maiden fish shop at Happisburgh, Causeway Farm Butchers at Ingham, Ingham Farm Shop, Meales at Wayford Bridge and many more).

Sea View – what a beautiful house in a perfect location, a stones throw from the sandy beach with stunning views of the sea from every room.  We have had a loely family holiday here and the location suited everyones requirements, whether kayaking or body-boarding on the sea, or simply sitting and watching it.   We’ve had lovely walks and bike rides along the cliffs and our dogs have enjoyed paddling in the sea every day, and barking at the waves.   We’ve dined at the Poachers Pocket twice and had lovely meals there and had take-aways from Labone Indian, North Walsham (who deliver) and Oriental Garden (Bacton).  We walked around Hoveton and ate lunch at The Kings Head overlooking the river, swans and boats.  We would thoroughly recommend both the area and the accommodation.  Thank you for a lovely holiday.  P.S We would love to come back some time.
