Project Description

Cabin Description

is situated on the beautiful riverbank in the lovely Broads village of Potter Heigham.   It is a traditional Broads cabin on the east side of the River Thurne alongside other Broads cabins (which are all individually designed and all completely different from one another).   If you enjoy watching the world go by and aren’t fussed at all about underfloor heating, Nespresso machines and gadgets galore, then Patikipa might just fit the bill.

It is the epitome of a truly relaxing Broadside holiday at a very reasonable price for up to 3 people and a very flexible policy on visiting dog numbers.  It’s the ideal place to hire a boat and use Patikipa as your base for mooring and to then explore the rest of the Broads……How about a trip to Horsey or Hickling Broad, Ludham, Coltishall or or even Ranworth or further afield – all very accessible from here.   If you are bringing dogs, there are lots of paths to follow too and some super long walks.

The cabin has a number of regular fishing visitors so if you would like to combine a bit of fishing with bringing the dogs on holiday (and of course dogs go free of charge!) then what a win-win.  It’s just a short walk into Potter Heigham where you can find Lathams (our own Norfolk discount superstore!), a pub, a fish and chip shop, a tearoom (with lots and lots of choice cakes) and a local boatyard and sales unit.

The cabin sleeps two with an additional sofa bed.  It provides basic, comfortable budget accommodation with stunninng views across the marshes and the river.

When you arrive:

It is walking access only to the cabin via a nice footpath running behind the properties on the river.  You cannot take a car to Patikipa (footpath only) but if you have luggage that you would like taken to the cottage, it can be transported easily by water taxi.

As you arrive at Patikipa, enter through the gate –  There is high solid fencing to the rear and both sides.  The garden faces onto the water and there is no fencing between the garden and the open river, so it is not fully enclosed for visiting dogs.

You can enjoy the tranquility and peace of the Broads from the garden as it has full views across the river to the marshes.  There is plenty external seating.
