Ollands Farm Barn is situated in a quiet and tranquil lane on the outskirts of the Happisburgh village in Norfolk.
It is a 22 minute walk to the lovely dog-friendly Star Inn at Lessingham, and a 40 min walk to Cart Gap (dog friendly) beach….or a 5 minute car drive!
Happisburgh village is a 30 minute walk in the other direction and it has a lovely sandy beach, another local dog friendly pub (The Hill House) and the iconic lighthouse. The village is a peaceful and traditional seaside village with a little village shop and an excellent fresh fish shop.
Ollands Farm Barn was built in approximately 1709, about 30 years after the farmhouse.
It has been lovingly restored to a very high standard and features beamed, vaulted ceiling, wood burning stove, central heating, quaint (but steep) paddle stairs, comfortable king-size bed in the galleried bedroom and a fully fitted kitchen and wetroom. Perfect for a romantic getaway
Sleeps 2 (plus sofa bed)
Off road parking
Smoke Free Property
Broadband & WiFi
The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Tea towels, oven glove and apron are all provided. On arrival you will find a pint of milk in the fridge and tea, coffee, homemade shortbread, a loaf of homemade bread, eggs and Ollands Farm jam to refresh you after your journey and get you started on your holiday. The back door leads directly to the covered veranda and secluded garden.
The main living area of the barn is furnished with comfortable sofas one of which converts to a double bed, warm wooden floor, antique dresser and dining area to seat four. There is a TV and satellite and CD/DVD with surround sound home cinema system and a small DVD library, small novels library and a range of walking and local information books to help you make the most of your stay. Ollands Farm Barn features free wifi.
You will see that the ceiling is very low – Please mind your head! The galleried bedroom is open to the living area and so, although there is a comfortable sofa-bed downstairs, the accommodation is really more suited to a single couple or family. Furnished with a king sized bed. The paddle stairs are very steep but easy to use once you have tried them. You go up and down as normal but it is not recommended that you try to turn round and go the other way half way up or down! If you have a dog, it is unlikely he or she will be able to manage them.
In the fabulous, luxurious wet room you will find fluffy towels, luxury bathrobes and Molton Brown toiletries including aromatic shower gel, soothing hand wash and silky smooth hand lotion.
The flint-walled courtyard and pretty garden at the rear are secure and dog friendly. The courtyard is shared with the main farmhouse – where we live but the rear Barn garden is totally private and secluded. It features wildlife pond, flower and shrub borders, rose arches and a range of climbing plants with a strong emphasis on fragrance. The flowers you find in the barn on your arrival are all grown in the gardens of Ollands Farm.
That Ollands Farm Barn is a non smoking cottage and we would be grateful if you could respect this.
