Project Description

Misty Meadow, Hickling

*** 20% OFF REMAINING BREAKS TAKEN TO 15th DECEMBER 2018  ***

Misty Meadow is situated in the heart of Hickling village.
It is a 5-10 min drive to Sea Palling (Blue Flag) beach and the village of Hickling boasts 2 dog friendly pubs, both within short walking distance.

There are some wonderful circular and coastal walks to enjoy with your dogs (http://maps.norfolk.gov.uk/trails/) and the area is fantastic for getting out and about on your bike. If you fancy a bit of town shopping the seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham are a short drive away, and more locally, why don’t you explore some of the lovely little villages we have nearby such as Happisburgh, Sea Palling, Horsey, East Ruston (famous for its Vicarage Gardens!) or head up to Mundesley and catch a bit of crazy golf! Lots of dog friendly places to explore and quite a few National Trust bases to visit (my favourite is Felbrigg…..Lots of super walks) With the historic city of Norwich just 20 miles away, there is a lot to do from this marvellous base in Hickling.

Hickling Broad is the largest of the Broads and a year-round haven for wildlife. Hickling is situated on the Upper Thurne river system, which holds a significant percentage of the UK population of common crane as well as important breeding numbers of bittern, marsh harrier bearded tit and Cetti’s warbler. In winter large numbers of marsh harriers roost in the reedbed north east of Stubb Mill; merlin and hen harrier are also regular. Barn owl is almost guaranteed and you may see kingfisher if you are lucky. Interesting mammals include the introduced Chinese water deer, red deer and hard-to-see otters.

There are lots of walks from the door, including Weavers Way and many bridle paths, but with such a large and secure garden, our visiting pooches will be just as happy playing zoomies around the garden.

Testimonials

Lovely house for all of us. Garden perfect & dog proof for our 3 lurchers & Arthur (2.5 y.o) to race around in. Agree with previous comments that an outside light would be useful. Park in Hickling was much enjoyed by Arthur, so close.

Thank you for a definitely dog friendly place.
