Misty Meadow, Hickling

Misty Meadow is a large house built in the early 1980’s and was a family home of the owners and their family for 20 years.  There are six bedrooms in total, with two of them downstairs, accommodating up to 12 people.

This gorgeous house is big enough for your all your dogs and your family from Great Danes to 12 Border Collies!  We accept unlimited dogs.
The garden really is enormous and a favourite for dogs who love zooming about with very safe and secure boundaries.
Comfort is an important part of your stay from the indulgent super-king size beds, Egyptian cotton bedding and towels, 50Mbps broadband and the well equipped kitchen.  This season saw four new leather sofas in the lounge.

Alan and Claire, the owners will look after every detail of your stay and aim to be as flexible to the individual needs of your holiday as possible.

Out and About

Hickling boasts 2 dog friendly pubs, both within short walking distance and it is a 10 min drive to Sea Palling (Blue Flag) beach.
There are some wonderful circular and coastal walks to enjoy with your dogs ( and the area is fantastic for getting out and about on your bike.

If you fancy a bit of town shopping the seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham are a short drive away, and more locally, why don’t you explore some of the lovely little villages we have nearby such as Happisburgh, Sea Palling, Horsey, East Ruston (famous for its Vicarage Gardens!) or head up to Mundesley and catch a bit of crazy golf!

Lots of dog friendly places to explore and quite a few National Trust bases to visit (our owners favourite is Sheringham Country Park followed by cod and chips on the sea front).

With the historic city of Norwich just 20 miles away, there is a lot to do from this marvellous base in Hickling.

Address: NR12 0YR (Misty Meadow, Stubb Road, Hickling, NR12 0YR)

Follow the A149 (from Norwich towards Stalham) and continue past Stalham for 2.8 miles. Turn left onto New Road (just past Catfield) and follow this for 0.6 of a mile.  Turn left at the junction and follow this road (Heath Road) into the village for about a mile.  At The Greyhound (dog friendly) pub, turn right down Stubb Road.  Follow this road for approximately 0.1 of a mile and take the first turning on your left.  Misty Meadow is the second cottage after the turn.

Lovely house for all of us. Garden perfect & dog proof for our 3 lurchers & Arthur (2.5 y.o) to race around in. Agree with previous comments that an outside light would be useful. Park in Hickling was much enjoyed by Arthur, so close.

Thank you for a definitely dog friendly place.
