3 Star Reactive Dog Friendly

3 Star Reactive Dog Rated

New Mill is a 2 star Reactive Friendly Pack Holidays cottage. Here are the reasons why, but also more importantly, what aspects of the cottage may not be suitable for your reactive dog. New Mill is situated in a new development near the staithe. It has a VERY secure courtyard with 8-9 foot high solid fencing along the road and side, and at the neighbours’ side, 5.5 foot high fencing and no way of digging out/jumping. The secure courtyard is accessed via the kitchen/dining doors and is completely secure from the entry into the complex. Whilst there are few passers by to the front of the house, the other side of the house does back onto the A149 Stalham bypass. There is an element of traffic noise which can be heard in the courtyard but little noise heard in the house, so if your dog is traffic noise reactive, this may not be the choice for you. There are a number of peaceful staithe and countryside walks direct from the door and you can walk a fair way along the River Ant without seeing a soul. There is no shared fencing despite having a house next door – there are houses on the other side of the courtyard but given most of this is residential it is a very quiet area.

We have just had the best family holiday in a long time, staying at the New Mill, Stalham Staithe. This was only recently booked and we were the first to use this under new owners. The place was spotless with great provisions. Gail has been so helpful and communication is spot on.
Really would recommend this place for a perfect family get away with your pooches.
PS you must hire a small boat from Smiths, only a short walk around the corner

Had a great stay here in this lovely house – everything was perfect and clean! Weather was kind to us for November – the dogs especially loved the beach at Mundesley. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the seals, but next time! Had great food at The Swan in Stalham. Thank you Gail for being so helpful and dog friendly!

We’ve had a lovely break away. All the doggies had a wonderful time. Great lcoation to get to all the beaches. We were lucky with the weather. Would definitely recommend Simpsons down the road for paddle boarding, May Sum for Chinese and Broadland Chips.

We’ve had a great time here at New Mill We have been on some lovely walks. Spent the day on the Broads with Simpsons just down the road and the boys loved Great Yarmouth so much we had to go back three times. Thanks Pack Holidays, we will be back sometime.

  6. The Marrison’s

We thoroughly enjoyed our break away! Everything was immaculate. The house location is perfect with quick and easy access to facilities like the supermarket, the Broads Museum and only a short drive from the sea, which came in useful as we have two miniature schnauzers. Thank you so much for our stay.

  7. The Lunnon’s

Absolutely fantastic stay at New Mill. Exceptionally clean with all mod cons, plenty of space for all of us and the 5 pugs. What else would we expect from Gail at Pack Holidays!! 5 * and highly recommended!!!!! We have stayed in the area many times and absolutely love Winterton beach and Bacton Woods. All 5 of our pugs have loved running around on the beach and in the woods. Highly recommended is Cafe Carmel with her stunning range of vegan cakes. The Biscoff, cookies and cream and coffee and walnut cake was to die for

The house is lovely, beautifully luxurious and everyone catered for – a real home from home! 💕 We really enjoyed visiting Norwich and had some lovely dog beach walks along Waxham and Happisburgh beaches. We had a lovely stay at new mill its definalty a home from home with everything you need for your stay. We are a family with 3 teenagers and even they were impressed. The house was is a great location for exploring the local area, I can highly recommend the food at the wayford Bridge Inn. It was lovely to be able to bring our cat as we had so many people turn us down but Gail saved the day. 100% recomened this cottage.

  16. Mandy Underwood

Lovely house in a great location for exploring the Broads as well as the coast. We don’t have a pack of dogs, just the one lazy greyhound who loved sleeping in his bed in the living room. He hates stairs so we didn’t need the doggy gate. Also met a few other greyhounds along the way. Food at the Fur and Feather at Woodfordes Brewery was lovely. Wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again.
