3 Star Reactive Dog Friendly

3 Star Reactive Dog Rated

Mimi is a 2 star Reactive Friendly Pack Holidays cottage, but heading towards the 3 star rating. Here are the reasons why, but also more importantly, what aspects of the cottage may not be suitable for your reactive. Mimi is situated in a very quiet area, off the beaten track and on the edge of farmland (there are no working farm buildings in sight). There is one house next door (Fenside)) which is also a Pack Holidays cottage but when you are in the cottage, Fenside is situated to the side of Mimi so is not overlooking the house unduly. The fields in front of Mimi have been arable for the past 4 years, and whilst we have seen some cattle, they have been three fields away (and are rather like little dots on the horizon).  The fencing around Mimi garden is  3 to 3.5 feet all the way around so whilst quite secure for most dogs, if you have jumpers, this might not be the right choice for you.The garden is accessed directly from the patio doors from the kitchen andyou can see the dogs in the garden quite easily from the kitchen window.  The garden is very big. There are some lovely bridle paths nearby as well as the walk to the beach via Beach Road, or for a quieter walk to the beach, take the bridle path on the left hand side of the road as you walk up Waxham Road.  That takes you across the dunes to the beach. There are no passers by, as Mimi is the last house on this private road.  There may be some entries and exits from Fenside but the houses are quite separate and there is no shared fencing. Please note that as this is a very rural location, there may be on occasion, the slight possibility of hearing a bird scarer.  With the possibility of crop rotation/crop protection depending on time of the year, we cannot rule it out. Please talk to Gail if you are concerned about this.

Mimi Cottage, Sea Palling

£153.00

(24 customer reviews)

Mimi Cottage is the last house at the end of a very quiet and peaceful lane in Sea Palling.  It is a fabulously spacious and well cared for cottage with plenty of room to spread out in and a wonderfully large garden to enjoy.   It has the most stunning views across the fields and from the decking area you can enjoy some fabulous Norfolk sunsets.

In Sea Palling you will find a dog friendly pub, dog friendly cafe (which does pretty amazing hot chocolate and fresh donuts), a really lovely fish and chip shop and a local shop all just a few minutes walk away.

Sea Palling beach is very dog friendly * but if you want to pop along to a quieter beach in the busier months, head to Waxham, Cart Gap and Happisburgh. Even out with pupping season, you will still spot a seal or two (and they sometimes have great fun following your coastal walk whilst they keep up in the water 🙂 )

It is a short drive to Horsey, then Winterton on Sea (which also has a fabulous beach) but you can walk to both from Sea Palling, perhaps taking in a visit to The Nelson’s Head or The Fisherman’s Return. (Both pubs do very nice food and are both very dog friendly).

Hickling is a 5 minute drive away, or you can walk there via the bridle paths. There are two very nice dog friendly pubs to visit (The Greyhound and The Pleasureboat Inn), Hickling Broad, and the village also boasts a local riding stable. Stalham town has some small shops, such as Cawdrons Butchers, local shops and cafe’s.

*  Dogs must turn right between May and September

Just returned from a fab Mon-Fri in this wonderful peaceful extremely well equipped cottage (house) 7 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs. ( plus 1 day visitor). Although the weather was sadly pretty cool we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Amazing produce nearby allowed us to use the abundance of cooking equipment available. Local premier store very handy too. Local deer and game visiting most mornings. Short walk to a great beach followed by a crafty drink at the pub. Beds very comfortable dressed with quality linen. All in all a great retreat, and will definitely return.

Just returned from a lovely week in Mimi Cottage. The location was perfect and so peaceful. It had a large garden and patio area overlooking fields. The cottage itself was spacious and fully equipped for a large group. The perfect base for exploring the Norfolk coast.

Fabulous house – handled 10 people and 4 dogs with ease. Bedrooms are all good sizes and well furnished. Kitchen/diner is great, lots of storage and facilities and a table big enough to seat 10. Location is superb, very quiet with lots of outside space and great views. SeaPalling beach is a 10 minute walk away + there are lots of circular walks to explore.
